Fantastic video as always and I’m loving the synth vibe of the channel. A quick query, if I had two different rackets from the same 16x19 series, let’s say the Head Extreme Tour and Extreme Pro. Both rackets were tuned to have the same static weight, swing weight, balance point and twist weight (as such polarisation, recoil weight and mgr/I figures match too). The only differences remaining between the Tour and Pro are head sizes; 98 and 100, beam widths; 22/23/21mm and 23/26/21mm and stiffness rating; 65 and 64. So, as I understand it the Tour would have more control due to the thinner 23mm beam, and the Pro racket would have a larger sweet spot owing to the larger 100in head size. Would there now be any power difference between the two? And what other differences would there be between each racket (assuming string set ups are equal)? Many thanks

I honestly don't know. I haven't read of any tests that have isolated for beam thickness. I'm sure that the manufacturers have this data, but places like TWU and the USRSA aren't able to manufacture sticks that isolate for beam thickness. My experience tells me that a thicker beam would likely lead to a higher launch angle and potentially more ball speed, but I'd don't have empirical evidence to support this. I think beam thickness and shape is a very interesting topic that hasn't bee explored much on the consumer end. Customers don't really know what shapes of beam support what playing characteristics, except for the box beam, which is generally accepted to be control oriented.

So I’m going to be buying a couple new racquet soon. What’s the most important measurement to match up or get close with? Swing weight? Static weight? Balance? Ideally I want all three to be close
@TennCom2 жыл бұрын
If you are going to spend the time to match your racquet, I would advise with just picking the 2 lightest you can get in terms of static weight, rather than picking two that are close in spec. If you just go for swingweight, you may end up with very different balance point, which can through off your swing speed just as much as a different swingweight can. The opposite is also true. The key is giving yourself lots of room to play with.

I thought the sw isn't changed if the weight is applied right under your forearm. Is this correct?
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
Actual swingweight shouldn't change if added at or below the 5cm mark as this is the axis at which the swingweight machine measures. Practical swingweight shouldn't change if added at or below the position of your hand, as this is axis at which you swing the racquet. So choking up is effectively reducing the practical swingweight of the racquet.

Hi, I like even balance or slightly head heavy, and most raquets have the balance in the handle. what's good and not too pricy for someone that likes the TI 6 but wants to avoid getting the twisted wrist from power shots of the other player. For a petit female young adult? Thanks.

I have no idea. I don't use these racquets because they are not designed for me. I believe Head still makes PWR versions of which are the successors to the TSi6, but I think you can still buy the TSi6 new today.

@@TennCom yeah going to get her to that weight 9.6 oz..108..110..HH or O. Bal. Same with me I could go up to 10.3 oz. Saw Dunlop FX700 $ And Head PWR $$ Yonex$$$ looks sweet.

I have never heard of twistweight. The swingweight and flex are more common but not always listed on racquet specs. Do you know Yonex really good? I am in love with my old RDiS 100 (93 size and 349 gramm strung, ). I am looking for a succesor - especially from Yonex, maybe Toalson. Any idea?

I have never tried that racquet so I have literally no idea.

@@TennCom I suppose, the succesor of the RDiS line is the Vcore line.
