I got the feeling it went from Hugh Heffner type parties, cocaine on a train, in this man version of the Grotto, to isolated, solitary loneliness. That building was all he had left of his dreams, and everything he worked for, now scheduled to be obliterated like it never existed... All those degrees, just left there.... did he not have any family left, any children? .... depressing. damn.

This is pretty gnarly, it's weird to think that someone lived up here after the bank went up, after all this time. I'm sure back in the late 70's and 80's, the Penthouse probably looked amazing...now it's just a mere shadow of it's former self. You KNOW tons of cocaine and broads were up there a-many many times.

Just watched another video here on youtube, (New details released in suicide at Glass Bank building) concerning the details of Mr Wolfe's death. They showed photos of the penthouse, taken a few years back, whilst he was still living there. Apparently there was a tiny glass room, with a very small bed in it - the room was only accessible by a small upholstered tunnel...very strange. Did you guys see that while you were there?

There was some good stuff in there if you like old stuff, that was an industrial sewing machine, it's worth at the very least $300, maybe a lot more. I'm in construction so I get to explore old building that are getting remodelled, the last one was a 95 year old bank, over the years I gotten thousands of dollars worth of stuff that was going to be thrown away.

Very eery when you find out about the past of this cool building and history.

In the 70's the bank had a nice restaurant at the top. Went there several times with my family as a kid. After that closed I believe the penthouse was built for noted aviation author Martin Caidin and his wife. The pillow at the 5:50 mark is from another landmark restaurant, Wolfies, if I recall correctly.

I lived there almost half a century ago. The penthouse had not been constructed yet, back in the early 70’s. This building was always known as the Glass Bank. There was a small strip plaza across the parking lot to the North and West...recall a barber shop there. There also was an ABC LIQUOR store nearby. A stand alone Krystal Burger joint was very close by too. The main entry boulevard to the Cocoa Isles neighborhood is just to the North at an intersection with A1A. A block North up A1A stands the original Quality Inn; a mini-resort motel that the original seven NASA astronauts had a small stake investment in which caused them some controversy and drama. This Inn had with restaurant, a courtyard with a nice swimming pool with a sun deck and tropical garden and a diving board, a game room and small sauna. It also had an upstairs nightclub that had a sectioned off padded room for pleasure seekers called the Pillow Talk Room. Inside it reminded me a bit of the abandoned penthouse....there was a long, curving, tufted upholstered sofa. By the early seventies, the Apollo mission was winding down and the local economy was really hurt by that fact, and the nightclub ceased to operate, though the doors were kept unlocked.

Really sad when you look into the history on this place. It looks like the owner got caught in a legal battle that left him unfairly responsible for the building decay that was the result of the person who owned the rest of the building. Seems like the city was after a money grab or something. Everyone involved in this should be ashamed that a man had to die over this.

I cant stop thinking of the last time Adam was there. So if Wolfe lived there until 2014 when he committed suicide....he could maybe have been there inside the building, while Adam was walking around outside looking at the building and trying to get in. How long was this place abandoned, and how long did he live upstairs before he killed himself?
@Mattdude411
@Mattdude411 9 жыл бұрын
Since 2004 due to a hurricane, but Frank stayed up there for around another 8-9 years before they evicted him; when the news was given that it was going to be demolished in 2014 he killed himself.

Kevin Jackson Maybe, he was living somewhere else for the last couple of months though. I think a lot of people would think he stayed until the end and jumped off the building lol

I don't know. I heard he shot himself in the apartment. But even if he was somewhere else when he did it sometimes if they had an attachment to a location, their spirit can be felt there
