I found the secret pub in Tipperary hidden in a family's home, where people from all over the country go to sing songs and play music only on Thursday nights. #irishbucketlist

This is just lovely. Thank you for sharing. If I ever have the chance to visit Ireland, other than going to well-known attractions, this is what I would love to do, having a true local experience with everyday people and who doesn't like to hear stories about the good old days, they are always filled with knowledge and intrigue.

I love this so much, Clare. I’m just an Indiana boy from the United States, with some Irish heritage, but watching this just stirs something deep within me. The songs, the voices, the stories…. It all seems so familiar, somehow. Thank you so much. I also love how you included John Prine’s version of “Til a Tear Becomes a Rose” with his beautiful, Irish muse, Fiona. RIP John

John Prine is very popular in Ireland. He used to spend a lot of time here. His wife was Irish and they had a house about 90 minutes from where this was filmed. He used to play in the local pub there (Kinvarra, Co. Galway).

It does my heart good to know you are keeping alive the culture of the Gael in modern Ireland and broadcasting it to the world. The world knows Ireland is changing dramatically so God love you for your efforts in promoting the Irish language and music. The Gaels were the men that God made mad! He made all their wars happy and all there songs sad. Slán 🙏🏻☘️🇮🇪

What a remarkable find! There is so much historical importance in just the stories and the music. This is a piece of culture and the soul of Ireland that I pray will never be cancelled by those fools who seek to deny us of our past. I LOL'd at the lady who said "is that a threat or a promise" as I've been saying that since I was like 10 or 11, lol too funny! Ok, so I can see how some people would absolutely love this. I like the concept and the sharing of comraderie and culture. That said, I think I'd find it too crowded and too loud. Recently a new bar opened near me that is themed as a "Witches Bar," and the cocktails are called "Spells" and so on. I really want to go, but seeing pics from within it looks quite small and very crowded/busy. I'm sure I'll go at some point, but while I don't mind crowds and loud music...I don't like them "in my face" so to speak. Regardless, this place looked awesome! Sláinte! ~Be Blessed

I've really enjoyed your last 2 videos. I love how you seek out interesting individuals and just point the camera at them to let them tell their stories. Jim O' the Mill is such a quintessentially Irish place. I envy you -- in America it feels like we've systematically eliminated all our gathering places and we're all living in our little bubbles. Heck, we even build towns that have no town square; they're just a random assortment of housing subdivisions and strip malls. I love the Irish for hanging onto their traditions. You said you were having trouble describing the feeling of being in that little pub; I think it must've felt like being wrapped up in a cozy warm blanket. Slainte!

The name Tipperary conjures strange images and old memories in my head! I am from India and my father worked for a gentleman by the name Lawrence Short. He owned a coffee estate in Yercaud, India in the 1950's. Was this gentleman from Tipperary? I don't know! Because there was an estate by the name Tipperary there too! I don't know if he was Irish, maybe from England. In the 40's and 50's there were a lot of British people in India who knew nothing about England. Just sharing my old memories! Greetings Claire Well, you little leprechaun explorer, ye all gone and did it again. Ye was able to demonstrate not a location, cultural site, Irish history, but you were ALSO able to depict the atmosphere, the music, emotions, and the 'quintessential' Irish culture. A Shebeen sounds much like a 'speakeasy' of the Roarin' 20s during Prohibition Era (1920-33). They are also known by the euphemistic terms 'blind pig' or 'blind tiger'. While maybe not completely, you were VERY MUCH able to show that 'indescribable experience" you are claiming not to be able to do. Ye was able to display it with finesse and nuance both through the music and the story of oul' Jim. It could be sensed by your editing and your facial expressions while you were still there and in your recap. You do have the "Friendship in your face' in pots full of gold. Jim was ABSOLUTELY right on that. This is why you have a HUGE community of followers and fans of your channel. You are smart, genuine, amazing, clever, witty, spunky, daring, honest, and wonderfully good person. Yes, it is too bad you could not stay over until morning to enjoy breakfast with the family to absorb more of the culture and essence of this place. Sincerely wish you GRAND enjoyment on your next adventure. May the wind be always at your back, the roads clear, and your camera at the ready.)) Go n-éirí an bóthar leat!!😊😉😇😇

That was amazing! I can see why it's so busy in there, I bet they could make that pub three times the size and it'd still be packed full every time.

Oh what a joy! My great grandmother was from Tipperary. This video brought me back to my Irish roots and transported me to another time and place "THANK YOU".

Wow! Nice work... it's a long way to Tipperary, but you made it much closer. And I wouldn't have imagined a show host could munch crisps (potato chips for Americans) and say "fuck", & still pull this off so well., but you did! Good job!

This is great... I wish I could add it to my Bucket list... There's a place in Eugene Oregon called Sam Bonds Garage that has an Irish jam every Sunday afternoon, loved going there.

How about a visit to the famine museum in Strokestown County Roscommon. Also nearby is Cave of the cats where Halloween supposedly originated from. Love the video. Jimmy
