Your theology is way off. We no longer have a fallen nature. Maybe you do but if you're born again you have a new nature which will help you renew your mind and receive healing for that "fallen body" But you go ahead and live in sickness and depression and poverty if you want. Joel however lives the abundant life that Jesus came to give us which is really true theology.

@@matthewcraig8926 Exactly. It's silly. It doesn't track. That's why when so-called preachers co-opt the prosperity/health/wealth doctrine and pass it off to the poor anywhere as the true gospel, they're the only ones who make out like fat cats-not the listeners. Some American false teachers have left those poor foreign places economically worse than they found them! The true gospel of Jesus Christ leads a person to faith in Christ (not in temporal things) and benefits them for eternity, even if they never make a dime or live another day after being saved.❤

@@susanthroop1279 you don't need a miracle only if you believe that your works are good enough instead of faith. God's blessings doesn't rely on material wealth and selfish personal gains. Does God bless people financially? Yes of course... Does he does that to everyone? No! Why? Because he is the one who planned everything and he's the one who knows the day after tomorrow. So don't keep chasing "blessings" without the need of "knowing" and have a relationship with Christ. Jesus isn't our personal bank or Santa Claus, he's our father and saviour who needs to be respected and taking his scripture seriously.

@@dedasalmeida9047 So a blessing isn't material wealth. Give me a chapter and verse on that. You won't find one because you're scripturally illiterate. Your literate in the doctrines of men and religious traditon. Your completely off the subject of what I address. Blessings ARE material wealth and gain and they don't have to be used for selfish gain. Joel doesn't even take a salary from his church. He lives off the proceeds of his books. Nope your Calvinist doctrine doesn't line up with scripture. You have to participate with God to receive His blessing. And that's not a work--its faith of which you contradicted yourself on. Best get into scripture and not Calvinist doctrines of men of this false idea of God's sovereignty.: Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it Deut 8:18 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. "Though the Lord Jesus Christ was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich" (2 Cor.8:9). Scripture is full of prosperity and wealth...read it and study and meditate it to get rid of your doctrines of men. Get baptized in Holy Spirit so you can understand scripture.

*44:15* Kenneth Hagin actually says the words... *_"...build ye bigger barns"_* ...when I heard that, I immediately thought of the following words of Jesus who offered this parable as a rebuke against the arrogance of the proud and wealthy whose faith is in their works... "And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ *And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones,* and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” *LUKE 12:16-21*

Genuinely don’t know anyone who would have been fairer to Osteen than this. You honored him but spoke truth. It’s hard for me to be critical of Osteen because he had such a big role in my life when I lived alone as a depressed teenager, ironically despite what one would have you believe - his message inspired me to take the word seriously, get planted in a local church, trust God in difficult situations. People always focus on Joel talking about the “promises” of God, they seem to leave out the bits where he speaks about adversity and trials, times when it doesn’t seem like God will show up. In today’s modern evangelical church, it’s all too common for people to abandon everything when life gets tough, yet the fruit of Joel’s message seems to be much more biblical. Hopefully this video gives some people some insight to stop calling him the antichrist and start praying for him. A leopard can’t change his spots, but God can do anything

Any time I hear someone say, “I never went to seminary, but I think I still have something to offer as a pastor”, in my mind I simply swap out pastor for surgeon. Imagine if he said, “You know, I never studied medicine at university, but I still think I could do a great job of performing open heart surgery”. Isn’t being a shepherd of souls more important in its eternal impact than being a surgeon? So if the second statement sounds insane, why should we let Osteen, or anyone for that matter, get away with the first statement? Edit: Just to clarify, I’m NOT saying that it is mandatory to go to seminary in order to be a pastor. In fact, my own pastor didn’t go to seminary, but what he did do is ensure that he got an equivalent level of education, so that he has a comprehensive understanding of God’s Word. That is what’s non-negotiable. A pastor needs to have proper training, whether the place they get that training from calls itself a seminary or not.

@@CronoWiiUxblCrono In the eyes of the world, the disciples may have appeared to be uneducated, but I would call spending 3 and a half years learning directly from Jesus a pretty phenomenal education, so I would say they had the best education ever! We, on the other hand, don’t have that luxury, so we must “Be diligent to present ourselves approved to God, as workers who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15). One very good way to do this is by attending a Christ-centred, Biblically faithful seminary. It isn’t mandatory for a pastor to attend seminary, but what is mandatory is that he receive a comprehensive education in how to properly understand, interpret, and teach the Bible. So, even if the education he receives is not from a place that calls itself a “seminary”, he should nevertheless ensure he has received an equivalent education.

First of all, this is a very well done documentary for anyone wanting to know more about Joel Osteen. It correctly mentions the influence of his father, John who is virtually unknown to non-Charismatic Christians. It also accurately describes how Joel wasn’t originally a pastor but started off as a technical producer. However, this video gets a lot of facts incorrect. First of all Kenneth E. Hagin’s biggest influence was Smith Wigglesworth, not E.W. Kenyon. He largely learned many of his teaching from Wigglesworth and a few other influences and didn’t even know about Kenyon until two years after his death when Hagin had received one of his books from a friend. He never studied under Kenyon, as mentioned in the video. He got a revelation about faith from God, not from New Age or Kenyon. Also, Kenyon never dabbled in New Age or was influenced by Quimby. Second, many of the preachers identified in this video as Word of Faith are not actually Word of Faith. Joel, Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes and Paula White are Charismatic but not Word of Faith. Most actual WoF preachers are largely unknown to many outside of the community. Word of Faith and “Prosperity Gospel” are not the same thing. The Prosperity message is about God wanting to bless you. The Faith message teaches principles about living by and using your Faith in God. They are similar messages but not identical.

I don't think there's anything wrong with reading them. The danger is in believing that what it says is the gospel and that you don't actually need to know the Bible or adhere to it and Jesus Christ's will. Many people who know the prosperity gospel is false but still listen to sermons like Joel, not to believe what it preaches but to hear a positive message & to see what other people are being taught. It is very dangerous to watch any new age church preaching without context & truth. However, once you have that context & truth you can feel comfortable hearing a sermon & be able to dissect it with ease. It is only those without the truth that it's dangerous to. Once we give people a dose of the truth they can begin to heal from false teaching.

Miracles and God's hand is still very active but you have to pay attention to see it. My son was born with a chromosome deletion so he didn't walk until he was 2 years old. He had other developmental issues and still does at 12 years old. Doctors told us that he would probably have a mind of a 4 or 5 year old. Like I said he's 12 and he gets himself up in the mornings, gets dressed, make sure be has all his stuff ready for school. He also has taught himself how to yo-yo and he can do very complex tricks. My wife and I never stopped praying for him along with our family and friends. He struggles in school but he can memorize things that interest him. He is very active in our church. He's a very compassionate kid with a big heart. He does realize he's different from the other kids and he'll ask us why. We tell him everyone struggles in life, everyone.

Joel Osteen was crucial to destroying my faith in Christ as a child. The only exposure to religion I really had was: 1. My mom making me go to sunday school so i wouldn't "end up like your sister" 2. My grandma, who despite appearing deeply religious only ever exposed me to Joel Osteen and nothing else in terms of religious content. The fact he never really preached any real gospel always bothered me and drove me away. Thankfully in my adult life I started to interact with better Christians than what I grew up around.

Billy Graham was a 33rd degree freemason taking orders from the Jesuits. The man wasn't a Christian. He taught heresy like "accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior will make Jesus come into your heart and you'll go to heaven." This is not in scripture and does nothing. There are millions of people who clearly don't read and obey the bible but believe they're going to heaven because they prayed a prayer of acceptance with Billy Graham. Nope. The only reason he was famous is his Jesuit handlers made him so because the heresy he taught they liked. Billy Graham is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur where he belongs. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1 : 8 Blessed be the name of the Lord.

@@terrywarnold Does every pastor have to "preach sin"....Where does it say that in the bible. That's your law or the law of your reformed tribe. Joel is a discipler. Preaching sin is what an Evangelist does. Joel is seeking to help his flock learn how to walk the Christian walk....how to deal with adversity...how to be an overcomer in life. Again, he's not an evangelist. He's a pastor shepherding his flock. Once we become Christians were no longer to be "sin conscious" Our sins are forgiven and don't exist. They've been removed from the East to the West. Sin is not a motivating force. Sin is condemnation and in Christ there is no condemnation.
