In England judo is quite different to the other european style, as we are quite transition heavy. I competed in strasbourg for an u18 European cup and the French lads are just built different especially in heavyweight

Secret sauce in American Judo ? Secret is personal commitment and finance, no structural support like in France, Germany. What's the status of the youth programme ?

I think the American style is there gripping styles and the Americans are so well conditioned. American team have alot less qualtity randori. We in UK are closer to various European camps.

Truth is that whatever you want to call "American style" it is incredibly inferior to everything else out there. This isn't just hating, international results back that up.

No one said it was better than any other style. If you paid attention to the video, you would ascertain that that system has been developed to try to best overcome the shortcomings Americans have, namely lack of depth and talent. You have to work with what you’ve got.
