Nice video! I was surprised by you saying the lighter the resistance, the better. Bought a "judo" band, which is a rubber tube for training at home bc I thought the more resistance you get, the better.
@TravisStevensgrappling4 жыл бұрын
Bands are used for tempo not for strength. So you want it to have a spring to it. You should be able to make a wave with it when you stretch it.

@@TravisStevensgrappling Great response!! True for me too. Shock (rubber the elastic) cord at the hardware store, (not open at the moment) is fine.

Coach, Thanks for offering your experience and techniques. Was wondering why you don't use a band that provides more resistance to simulate an opponent that is resisting your throws?

Great exercises to practice on your own during these unfortunate times. I was really looking forward to the NY Open. Just out of curiosity, do you have any other interests or hobbies your pursuing outside if martial arts? Considering you've achieved such a high level in judo, is there anything you suck at and want to get better at? As always, thank you for your time.

Do you recommend trying these drills with zero experience? I want to get into Judo but obviously not a great time for joining gyms. May not be able to join one for some time. Can I just set up a band at home and try these slowly at first?
@TravisStevensgrappling4 жыл бұрын
Yeah! You shouldn't hurt yourself just trying them out. Remember just start slow.
