Hello again! Just wanted to ask, do you give awards at art shows or at the end of the semester/year? If so, what categories do you use? Do you do any silly awards? Do you give awards for each category per class or grade or the entire school? I think at the end of the year, I might do this at the final assembly. I would not give everyone an award (even though it means some kids will be upset). What do you suggest?

In my district we give a participation award for anyone who had their art featured in the pyramid show. Our pyramid show is all the schools that will go to the same high school. So, around 40 students. In my building, I do the end of year “golden paintbrush” award for the top 6th grade artists only. In the past we only were allowed to pick 2 students but I’m going to request one student from each 6th grade class. I only pick from the top grade level bc otherwise I got questions on how someone could be the best in 4th and not also be the best the next year when they were in 5th.
