Great videos!! The film does not lie and, therefore, should hold all of the answers necessary to correct any and all deficiencies. If you know the game well enough! You definitely explain some of those complex details so many coaches can't!!

@firstdowntraining you're welcome. I've been coaching and training championship football since before you were born and I'll be the very first to say that you have to improve on every skill if you plan on winning championships and reaching the highest levels of play! I was also a QB in HS, and also a LB in middle school so I learned how to beat the defenses and stop the offenses. In short, I think you'd agree that what separates a QB and a player that can throw is a QB's mechanics , touch, and pass, has to look the same naturally and repeatedly!! Most believe that if someone struggles to repeat the qualities needed, they just dont t have what it takes. I break every skill down to the very core and teach every single skill separately and do them a million times or more and I've ended up teaching some kids that struggled badly how to become successful QB's, even playing college level. I've used a couple techniques you're teaching!! I have a ball catching drill, route running, and open field tackling drills 2nd to none! Let me know if you'd like me to show you. You are are definitely top shelf amongst a growing number of good coaches on YT. Stay Powerful!!!!

Yes. And also, when QBS take the hitch they sometimes like to stay there instead of getting that front foot down! It’s just wasted motion.

So let me break this down just to confirm. 1. Weight should be always back (But I think all QB's know that.) 2. Shoulders are always back when your hips come through. 3. Rocking your weight back so your weight is on your Back foot. 4. Closed shoulder. (Which I think is having your Non-Throwing-Shoulder close to your armpit if I'm correct) 5. Same throwing sequence as you're getting hit I think.

Man I short arm throws quite often and I hate it when I do because I know when i follow through all the way it feels natural and I've been correcting with short slow motion type throws just as kind of a warm up that's ok right?
@firstdowntraining

Yessir it takes a lot of repetition to reconstruct a throwing motion. You’re doing the right things

I’m in my first year of tackle football in 5th grade. I’ve been having trouble seeing over my o-line. I’m 96 percentile for my age so I’m not small. Do you have any tips to help see over my o-line and still be accurate?

not much you can do. maybe see if you are too low in the pocket and if your stance is fine you'll just have to work on keeping your head level and eyes down field. its part of the job sadly
@firstdowntraining
@firstdowntraining 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly you need great feet in the pocket. I’m not a very tall guy either- when I was in high school I was 5’8 and all of my linemen were 6’2+. So to be able to see I needed great feet in the pocket to almost create throwing windows. So you have to buy some time with your feet and be able to move around in order to do so. Hope this can help

Should tbe ball go as far behind our shoulder as yours does 2:42
@aabahdjfisosososos
@aabahdjfisosososos 2 жыл бұрын
This is simply the throwing part of our mechanics. It’s not something to worry about unless it goes too far that it hinders our movement. So, no, not really.
@firstdowntraining
@firstdowntraining 2 жыл бұрын
It’s not a huge issue- usually on deeper throws this can happen to guys- even the pros. I would checkout Patrick Mahomes deep ball mechanics he drops that ball so far behind his head it’s almost freaky- so as long as it’s not wasted motion then you’re fine
