I have trouble allowing Myself to move on or take steps when or if I have any thought in the back of my mind that my motivations would be to get my ex to come back as that wouldn’t be fair to anyone else. I’ve been chatting for several weeks with a previous ex from 15 years ago but keep things purely plutonic and the reason that relationship ended before was because she knew I wasn’t over my previous ex and I feel I’m in a similar situation now. I’ve been keeping myself in limbo and due to having kids together and current situation no contact hasn’t been really able to occur. The thing I'm not sure of is just WHY would your Ex block your number? That's one thing that has never even occurred to me to do because it takes more time and energy than I've ever thought to spend when I could just not answer my phone. Blocking somebody always seemed too cruel and extreme and hurtful. It seems now that folks not only break up with you, they want to break you by letting you KNOW that they don't mind being cruel when your line goes straight to voicemail. The other thought is that the Ex still has feelings for you, is attracted to you physically, but can't handle the relationship part. So then, what's wrong with a 'friends with benefits' association? I did that with a long-time friend of mine. Once we stopped trying to date, we really became intimate friends and stayed that way until the day he died. Several years. I guess it all depends upon the maturity levels involved, huh? Even so, I don't know if there's a crueler thing to do than to block someone.

My Ex and I were together 15yrs an have a 13yr old daughter, our daughter has been living with me the whole time we've been split up, we've been broken up for a year now. She got into a rebound within a week of leaving, moved in and all, it lasted about a year, they broke up a couple weeks ago. Now shes coming back around now. We've went out twice and had drinks so far, both her ideas. Both times went well, first time she was flirting and all over me, kissing me and telling me all kinda shit. I'm just going with the flow and seeing how things play out. I did tell her I can't be her friend, telling her that has made her try harder or seems. 15yrs is a long time together, there's still a very strong connection. She asked if she could come over Sunday for Easter. I told her year that's cool, but I don't know if I should ask her to do something as a family or just hang around the house, I don't wanna push or come in to strong, idk 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😅

@saloha808 that's what I've been doing, I'm letting her come to me, i haven't reached out first since the break up a year ago. She's messed up from her rebound break up, and send like she's dealing with our break up also. The first night we went out, she was crying and saying things about us. I know when I told her I can't be her friend, she said I I understand. Then the next night she texts me apologizing for hurting me so bad we can't be friends, then asks to come over the following night 🤣 🤣. It's just gonna take time, if it happens, it happens, if not, I guess it wasn't meant to be.
