What is a "high value" for shots, hits and blocks? New commish here and I'm trying to work my scoring settings to value shots hits and blocks in moderation but not to overvalue those stats and turn them into the focal point

i dont do points leagues for hockey but i do it for nba and i win every year because of similar analysis to this. they always wonder why i win lol. as for hockey, you draft whether roto or points the first thing you should do is look for sites that do stats projections. ideally you should look for sites and platforms that do it accurately. so you have to research. but its worth doing the research if you want to win. once you find the tools to get a good base for accurate predictions figure out what stats you want to focus on an hit them hard. youre not drafting names...youre drafting stats and opportunity. if youre in roto try to win 5-4 every week. ideally your focus should be on goal scorers because they will account for 2 of the stats leagues use....shots and goals, and likely they would also positively impact you in regards to pp points as well. so thats 3 stats you can lock....powerplay goal scorers. now you just have to lock in 2 other stats...i usually suggest hits and saves percentage. your 4th dman should be a hits monster, your bench should have 2 hits beast as forwards...thinking dakota joshua types as he can score as well. as for your goalies...look for tandems on defensive teams. it was easy money last year if punted goalies early and did the king's tandem with talbot and rittich.

If I want to use your Fantrax ranking method and I'm in a CATs league I can't see the fantasy points / fantasy points per game tabs at all... does that only apply for points leagues?

I’d have to check but what I’m assuming you can do is do a points league but make everything as 1 so it’s basically a CAT league I primarily play points which is why I’m not sure

Honestly I don't think it can work that way... my CATs are G A PTS PPP SOG HIT BLK and if I put value 1 to each category I end up with Brady as no.1 over MCD which doesn't make sense imo in such a point heavy CATs set up... Seider at 8... I think like this it gives value to every single HIT for example but not to the category as whole

In bangers points leagues or pretty much any category league that counted hits 2 seasons ago Jones was better or pretty equal in value Hughes should be better in most leagues though. Ultimately my point in the video isn't that Jones is better, but that the difference in their value in leagues that count peripherals is not big enough to justify the difference in their ADP Why should I draft Hughes in the first 2-3 rounds when I can get guys like Weegar or Jones way later? Again this only applies to certain leagues, lots of people have different settings

In my league Hughes was behind Makar, Josi, Dahlin, Weegar, Bouchard, Dibson, Seider, and Hedman. Hughes is terrible in banger leagues, same w Adam Fox

It's fine if it's not weighted too much but for Yahoo default is weighted so heavily it's insane. I also don't think we should punish players on bad teams for a stat that is largely out of their control

Dougie with 3 shots per game? Really? Last season? What… how? This just made me question everything lol. I see min 15 games but I wouldn’t bother including him in this list. Maybe he’ll have a good upcoming season or maybe he’ll lose his PP1 spot for good. *shrug*

Hmilton has 3shots per game and more the last 7 seasons... Maybe he will loose the pp1 but certainly not soon since hughes is out for quite some time

@@jonornot I'm a salty Dougie owner from last season. I didn't know Luke Hughes got injured and out first 10+ games so that does change things with Dougie being healthy again. I see they added Pesce too. I'm just salty and skeptical about Dougie now. I guess it's worth mentioning in the list, but 15 game min is a low bar. That's like when sorting goalies by GAA or Save % and you see the one backup of a backup that played 1 game and allowed 1 goal at the top of the list.
