I'm a 38 year old black female attorney. I've been a nerd my whole life 😅 but rap has been my fave genre forever. I just turned 38 a few days ago and finally ready to pursue my hobby. I downloaded rap game and I almost died of embarrassment as what I sounded like....so I'm here.😅

I'm sorry but you're wrong. There's no scientific proof that people "are born" with nice sounding voices. It's called training your voice with hard work and effort. Just about any voice can sound good with proper training and commitment. I'm sorry but "talent" in voices doesn't exist.

Bro! I have been listening to rap all my life, never thinking that i could do it. But with your chanel I have done my first track on a drill beat! I am from Africa grew up in New York. You won't understand the bars but I want your take on the delivery, on beat? Etc....Thank you so much.
@MichaelTurner856
@MichaelTurner856 Жыл бұрын
From a listener perspective I think that your voice with the tone you use sounds good and has potential to but from what I could here it would be good to practice staying in pocket on the beat because sometimes it feels like you slip up and start rapping too late or early in comparison with the 808 hitting. I will take into account that maybe somehow it makes more sense to do that in your language in terms of grammer or something but to my ears I think it sounds a little off beat. Hope this criticism could help and I'm glad you're following your dreams, with enough work you can become great! Keep grinding

I always believed the flow is the water and the beat the cup or container. and that you should as an artiste be able to flow on anybeat...I get inspired by other versatile artiste like jay z, biggie, vybz kartel, ( a million styles) bounty killer tone & delivery and even beenie an to a lesser extent. as i didn't listen him much growing up, but as it comes to versatility and delivery he's one of the best. in regards to tone & energy it depends on the beat, the key and also the lyric you're spitting, I try to be one with the beats, tho they are some beats u can over power in an against the grain way & it's a perfect match. jay z said he change style every 2 rhymes in 22 two's, that really inspired me, when i just started rapping, then i heard r.kelly says he doesn't listen music from other artiste, so as to not be inspired to do the same & sound similar, & as u see he was way different & ahead of the game. so i try to do both even rapping over classic piano beats. It also helps if u just play beats all day like a rotation of 20-40 beats in random repeat and try to freestyle or have a song for each one whenever they pop up, as I used to do when i was seriously trying to be an artiste. as a therapeutic hobby writer, like i am currently I just, pick an easy flow to vent life and breath away stress or wadeva and it kinda works

Ultimately comes down to goin to the studio and gettin ugly. Just try every vocal tone from slow and smooth to nerdy and nasally. Enunciate certain vowels in interesting ways. it’s really ab being comfortable with experimentation and as you do it more over time you’ll likely find lil elements that you actually use in songs.

All these things have been lost in present day rap IMO. I’ve NEVER seen an entire genre of music take such a nose dive. It breaks my heart. These rappers today have no respect for the history and that’s why they all sound exactly the same. Sickening.

I have so many questions as an aspiring rapper. I've been doing music for 15 years and it's all been heavy metal. I want to experiment with rap to expand but I need to learn the correct annunciation to give it a nice flow. It's natural to some but I'm struggling. Everything I rap sounds tight and awkward. Any help on this would be great.
@emmanuel2631
@emmanuel2631 4 ай бұрын
There can be lots of reasons for sounding awkward,but when you rap , try to say your lyrics from a place of confidence, and focus more on your phonetic emphasis, make the rhyme sound brighter , and most of all your breathwork is key
