I now have the R10 and am very happy with it. I’m in my third year of golf so spin numbers aren’t as important to me right now, as a lot of other people are. I’ll definitely give the RCT balls a go though now that you’ve showed this video. Thank you sir👊🏽

Not sure if this was because of my request for you to pair the Garmin with Awesome Golf on the MLM2 pro launch video, but this is exactly what I was talking about. That one simple change (switching to the Awesome Golf software) fixes almost everything wrong people are experiencing with the unit. It was 100% a software issue not a hardware issue.

I picked up an R10 last summer and have been pretty happy with it. Although one thing I’d add to your list of things to make it as accurate as possible is a good stand for it. In addition to properly leveling the device, most of them have a place in them to put an alignment stick to alleviate the problem you had in the video of not having it pointing perfectly straight. Good video Gabe!

I also wanted to ask for a suggestion of how to properly align the R10 if you didn’t have an alternative launch monitor to compare it with? Not that you would necessarily know that it was out of alignment unless you were dead certain of your swing accuracy, and let face it, how many of us mortals who may be in the market for this sort of device are that good? Thanks for your great videos, I enjoy them all.

I have several devices that Garmin R10, ES 14 and a blast Golf device. I have found the Garmin R1.0 to be incredibly accurate with anything less than an iron iron as your video states the longer the club and total distance appears to be way off. The spin rates on longer clubs with theR10 seem extremely off. The ES14 is an all device, but seems to be very accurate. The Golf blast device is another incredible piece of equipment, for putting chipping, bunkers swings, swings for speed, drills, etc. is a very handy device. The Garmin is a very cool piece of equipment, but if it’s not exact, your numbers are very skewed

As someone has improved more in the past 3 months that I've had the device, than the rest of my life combined, I'd urge you to trust it. When paired with the Awesome Golf software (and only when paired with it) the Garmin R10 will give you very accurate readings (even with ball flight). I'm not sure what level you're at, but even if you are a scratch golfer you'll get some very useful information from this device. If you're a beginner, it's easily the best golf purchase to improve your game that you could make.

@@augustin09s You do not need the subscription. You will have to purchase the Awesome Golf Software though (one-time $350 payment option is best bang for your buck). More than worth it though. The Garmin R10 is awesome, but the software it comes with is trash. Awesome Golf fixes that flaw with several different modes (some of the best game improvement ones on the market) and 4 9-hole courses. They are also very new so they are regularly adding updates (I'd assume 18 hole courses are next). I use it outside (previously into a net and now into an impact screen). Haven't had any issues with it. It will read slight chunks a little short on distance when hitting on turf but has seemed to adjust when on the range.

Hey Gabe hope you are doing well. Good vid. I wish you would have put more parameters on the screen. I haven't watched any recent videos with the R-10. But alongside spin, one of the main issues w/ the unit was measuring SPIN AXIS which would show an actual draw to appear as a fade or a hook in the sim or Fade to show as a draw or slice. Like we saw in the video. The last 5 iron you hit after you adjusted the unit looks like the spin axis was wrong again. Hence the huge difference in carry.

Well done video, nicely presented and cool setup. But what I was waiting for the whole time was that I want to see lateral deviation of the shots and the according data. Length is fun and games, but if I'm trying to improve my swing target accuracy is way more important. I do feel if I hit the ball center and know how far it should fly, I don't need a launch monitor to tell me that. I can tell if that distance number is wrong or not. What can be really difficult when hitting into a net is however to feel the difference between an outside-in or inside-out swing path or an opened or closed clubface on impact. Why weren't you comparing club path, face to path, face to target, distance to left or right and maybe spin axis to see if a 600.- device can compete with the Bushnell? Does anyone have experience with these parameters? I am very interested in buying a launch monitor for 500 to 700.-, but if it misinterprets a fade to a draw then that is going to add more confusion to my training sessions than help. And maybe mess up my golf swing for good X-)... I honestly would have expected a video like this to adress this question... However, still a solid and well done video, just (hopefully unintentionally) missed out on some vital info as far as I am concerned.

I am only about halfway through this video, but I wanted to ask a question. Is there an improvement on spin numbers when using the RCT balls outdoors? I simply do not have enough space to set up an indoor range. But I have set one up outside. I love my R10 but one of my biggest complaints is the spin issue as it doesn't really track my side spin in regards to my slice issue. If this works I would be thrilled to pick up a couple of sleeves and give them a go. Also, thanks for this video.

I have been using normal balls up to now but have recently been contemplating getting the RCT balls. This video has convinced me they're worth the investment for the extra accuracy. Just curious how durable they are. My normal gamers are much cheaper but one ball is pretty scuffed up after one decent range session and getting pretty beat up after 2-3. I will not use Titleist golfballs on the range, knowing they will be lost forever, after a single shot ;-) But are the numbers still usable for training or will they differ a lot from reality? So, is the device only suitable for usage indoors and outdoors is not accurate enough to use it for training?
@LetsPlayThru Жыл бұрын
Outdoors it’s better than indoors, no special RCT balls needed. Now with floaters, they usually don’t fly as far, so the R10 is going to give you an accurate number of how far the floater flies, but not how long a regular ball flies.

@@LetsPlayThru Yeah no metal or concrete, went through like 20 pages on google/youtube. I sent it back as I cannot get it to work properly. Thanks for the response!

Can you test Rapsodo mlm 2 pro vs Garmin R10?
@kenny_n4744 Жыл бұрын
I find myself using the PRGR most of the time over my R10. Have not been lucky with accurate distances on R10 at the range. As far as Awesome golf, it’s like $350. Just not going to spend that type of $.

Can i ask why you dropped the ball speed off after the 9 iron? were you seeing big differences with the other clubs?
@LetsPlayThru Жыл бұрын
Good question, I legit had a power outage in the middle of making this video. Had to stop recording for 4 hours until it came back on. When it did I switched to 7 iron and just literally forgot to include that. Although the side by side screens should show it. It’s also why you don’t see side by side screens with the 9 iron, because that file got corrupted when the power went out. Crazy day.

@@LetsPlayThru thanks mate, I'm in the market for a launch monitor and had crossed the garmin off the list as a contender (thinking mevo+ or Skytrak) untill I watched this vid. I feel like the Garmin has the potential to be great, but can just as easily be way off depending on each time you set it up?

Bro if your club speed is over 127 mph is the Garmin accurate in ball speed, and distance ?

So my question is if a lefty is hitting are the shots still reporting like a nice draw or would it show the opposite? Need to grab a lefty guy to continue to test that spin axis

I just picked up one of these units for $400. I have an Eye Mini but don't think I'll ever take it to the range/on course so this will be my "mobile" LM. Thanks for the great video. Have you tried one of the laser alignment stands? Also, Awesome Golf had theirs way above the hitting surface on their video - like a foot up. Any idea why?

It looks like you had the Garmin R10/Awesome Golf set to 5 iron when you were hitting the driver. You forgot to tell it you were hitting driver; would that have an impact on the distance and spin accuracy?
@LetsPlayThru Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t really make a difference on the reads, it’s only if you want to keep track / gap your clubs.

Good video. If you do get the Rapsodo 2, I'd be very grateful if you do a deep dive on what's NOT included in the premium package. I saw a few days ago that 'Rapsodo range' and spin were premium features, which would be incredibly disappointing if that was the case!

Absolutely will do. From what I have heard, it will have a range, but you will not get all the data or access or the high speed camera.
