You're right about tomatoes loving the deeper planting for stability! I had tons of leggy tomatoes so I fearfully up-potted them and buried a good 75% of their stem. A few fell over and looked like they wouldn't make it but within a few hours they are all thriving and look like nice, sturdy little plants. Love your energy and positivity!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!.... am an absolute beginner and have been trawling videos which don't show you anything beyond 'sowing' the seeds and getting to germination point. I just needed to 'see' how it's possible to transplant the seedlings when they are so delicate. In a way, I do understand that it's not exactly rocket science - you really do just have to be super careful and have everything prepared and to hand; but if you've never seen it done - a demonstration like this is worth a thousand words! Thank you again, and I will be subscribing!

Fabulous video. As I do not have a greenhouse and the ambient moisture one provides, there are two things I do differently: 1.) Looking toward separating seedlings, I sow the seeds somewhat more sparsely to begin with and wait for the first set of true leaves to pot them up into larger cells or containers. 2.) I remove them from the original container on top of a plastic sheet and separate them out onto that sheet and cover them with a second sheet of plastic. This keeps my seedling and especially their roots from drying out. I can gradually turn back the top sheet of plastic as I progress through completing my task of potting up.
