With changing weather conditions, patience is the key ingredient to creating great images. I see this so much where I live in prairie country in midwest USA. Finding the composition is my whole challenge; patience is the key. I much learn to do it without a camera. Love to see you do more on this subject. Nicely done Nigel. Thank you.

What great work. The vivid colors. The bouncing dog. The old adage is, never work with kids or dogs, but your dog seems to be happy and sticks with you. Mine looks a little like yours but his name is Bullet because he's off and gone. Good drone workas well. I live in AZ. We are lacking in great fog and moss.

Lovely video. You've captured the magical/ethereal quality of the wood really well - in both the stills and the video. And shown that woods/forests in general can make a wonderful subject for landscape photography - not just mountains, seascapes etc.

Nicely demonstrated, out of the trio I personally like the fog & snow ❄️ image. Sad about the trees being impacted, but normal for the pines to take the brunt of the damage. Enjoy the videos and have a grand day. Cheers, G

Fascinating to see the impact the recent storms have had. Awesome video Nigel, with some fantastic tips about woodland photography. I wish we had more fog around where I live in Australia as it really does help with simplifying landscape images. Out of all the vlogs I’ve done, only one has included fog…it just doesn’t happen often. Loved the image with the moss rocks in the foreground and the story it told, thanks for sharing mate!

I echo the sentiment of just how nice it can be walking through a peaceful wood with only the sounds of the natural environment. Nice spot there Nigel, and good shots - I like the one in the fog with a dusting of snow, as it gives a bit more definition to the forest floor.

What I didn't anticipate: I like the image of the 'fog gone' best! Not sure why, but the clarity (and contrasts?) drew me to this image more than the other two... thus proving the subjectivity of the viewer, I guess. Hi Nigel - excellent. I am a teacher in ancient woodland & tree science - although I'm happy in plantation woodland, even coniferous, my heart is in ancient oak, beech, hornbeam, large-leaved lime, black-poplar, etc where there are grand old veterans, pollards and all the spring herbs. These woodlands are so much more chaotic, maybe random is a better term, there are no lines of trees, there is always a vast mix of ages, often with coppice between. Fog seems the only way to simplify, though if distance is possible a long lens with a wide aperture can help. Nevertheless, I find it exceedingly hard to find a composition even when the subjects are magnificent, capturing these grand old trees is more akin to portraiture than landscape photography. It would be really great if one day you could visit an ancient woodland with some big old veterans and show us how to isolate a subject and capture the venerable dignity in an ancient tree (these trees have incredible stories to tell, just like portraiture of veteran soldiers from D-Day). I promise the trees will lift your heart, though the composition may be somewhat testing. Thanks for your incredibly honest and inspiring videos.
