I believe the pro l is doing nothing but turning up the volume, you’re not crossing the threshold
@ArcNade3 ай бұрын
@@tommy2nes yeah it’s just a way to have more control, as increasing the volume on FL mixer itself can cause problems when it’s already on the max volume and may also not go loud enough

Great tutorial, I have a question. After you put the processing on the drum bus (limiter etc) what volume in dB did you have the drum bus at?
@ArcNade4 ай бұрын
As long as you keep the overall master channel around -3 to -6 db it doesn’t matter too much, just adjust it depending on how the rest of the elements sound (e.g. basses)

People. just remember videos like this are totally 100% subjective. yes if u use the exact same hits as this guy u will get the same results... but drum hits vary hugely and it depends on the feel u want form ur track, not all tracks will have the kick as the loudest part of the break on ur mixer faders, some tracks have snares that fill in more space giving them an overall higher loudness and they will show as being louder, some tracks have very subtle kicks and snares and have percussive elements that will pop up louder,. dont think if u follow this ur drums will always sound phat, hes using very punchy kicks and snares to start. no mention of layering and transient shapers/envelopes or dealing with phase. Also if ur using a limiter and its not touching the threshold, you are essentially just turning up the volume of ur track, your not squashing or doing anything to the dynamics of ur tracks by doing this. IM NOT HAVING A POP AT THIS GUY. There is some hugely constructive stuff in here especially for beginners and he explains it very well.. just i feel there is no real "secret" in here.. its the basics. take it on board and experiment and have fun. good video .. bad title lol
