I preform with a group as a solo artist and I'll sing Hallelujah at the end of December. The problem is that I sing Alexandra Burke's version, and always sing very high but it doesn't dound right. This info is partially incorrect -- head voice starts around C6 and most humans never used their head voice and don't know how to access it (head voice can only be used in coloratura staccatos above C6) and, falsetto is a vocal technique that makes one's mixed voice airier, so this guy has only used his chest voice and his mixed voice, not his head voice...
@FrozenMermaid6662 жыл бұрын
Most humans have a very limited natural singing range, so they shouldn't be trying to sing outside their natural range, as it's only going to sound ferced and unpleasant -- I am the only being who has the natural singing range that is the widest range (in all vocal registers) that allows me to sing all the notes on a piano without any straining/fercing and without yelling, myself being the coloratura sopranino (unique voice type) aka the being with the highest voice on Earth (that can also reach the lowest notes) and the lightest and brightest tone!

Don’t be afraid of falsetto! It is healthier than pushing head prematurely and is the prerequisite to a mixed voice that allows you to access much higher and more powerful sounds. I come from a classical background so this may be different if you are working for a musical theatre belt rather than an opera mix.
@jchavez14312 жыл бұрын
My falsetto is just a hoarse voice. 😆
@jefolson6989 Жыл бұрын
You are right! Well kept secret is that operatic tenors develope and integrate the falsetto , then add body connection. Very evident in Bjoerling and Pavarotti. Falsetto isn't cheating. Its actually the key. The falsetto he demonstrates here is the undeveloped, detached falsetto.

bro this is super insane. it actually felt super good on my throat. i used to always try the other way: like when i couldn't go higher i'd go louder and it would also help me get up in the range but at the cost of some stamina and stuff. so thank you it was super helpful

Thank you, Adam, for such a clear explanation. I found this voice and had a great time singing high notes easily for a few days, and then one fine day, I just forgot to sing like that! Like, a week apart! It's been a month or more that I have been struggling to connect to this voice, but I just stumbled upon your video, and watching it once has made me come back and connect. Thank You! You got one more follower.💯 🌟🤝

Thank you. I'm already able to hit high notes but I haven't been doing it entirely properly. I was never taught I just have watched a few videos on subharmonics and the deepest ranges for when I throat sing (still can it's healthy and fun) now Im expanding my range higher instead of lower and I watched this and I was legitimately shocked at how I was able to make such a high note. Swear I'm trying to train my whole range to be able to go from low lows and high highs I love singing through my entire range Somebody I used to know and The Less I know the Better are the two that come to mind that helped me come to head voice as you call it Then Disturbs Sound of Silence and Take me to Church made me wanna get deeper I love singing it's so much fun and healthy for my lungs I smoke a lot so I try to be extra proactive about doing what I can for my lungs and singing helps me keep my lungs expandable Throat singing helps with congestion and build up in case you didn't know ❤️ I stopped a respiratory infection from travelling and becoming a Lower respiratory infection You can feel it making it's way lower it's scary

Adam is such a great teacher in many ways. One thing he does that is so helpful is that he will show you, in an exaggerated manner, what mistakes you might be making. This way of showing a counter-example is incredibly helpful. The mistakes he shows are exactly the mistakes I am making, and the way he exaggerates the mistake makes it easy for me to understand. The videos from this guy are 10/10.

I was classified as an Alto for years. But now, even at 55 I can reach a high G above high C. I'm careful however. I'm not 25 anymore! LOL! Breath control is a must. I was taught to do that so I wouldn't blow my voice out. Straining is not a good idea. Being able to control the volume of your voice is important too. I use my head voice more, but I can make it clearer than it used to be. Great video!

Just a friendly tip for all especially those who are still starting to sing or developing just like me that whenever you sing, you just have to exhale air through your mouth, but not to the point you become breathy. That's one thing not to have tension on your neck or throat.

cuz like your speaking voice is already higher than baritone so you simply can't teach a tuba how to play notes that a flute plays. Your apparatus is not identical to mine!

@vegeta18854 жыл бұрын
But the technique itself is. He was reaching A#4 here softly. Just because you are lower voice type, does not mean it wouldn't help. Just keep your scale where your voice lies. Also: just because you cannot hit some notes now doesn't mean you won't. This exercise is about reaching those notes, there is a different story how to strengthen them and learn to belt.
@stuartrussell40413 жыл бұрын
Not relevant. A tuba and a flute are designed to create specific sounds in the orchestral repertoire. Almost all human voices can be trained to produce a substantial range of sounds. A baritone can be a tenor or a bass but for a very limited time in areas which are the comfort zones of natural tenors and basses, the same as a mezzo's position between sopranos and contraltos.

With my voice being so deep as it is, along with my history of screaming vocals, and smoking, I think I may be incapable of nailing those high notes because my vocal chords are screwed, lol. I'm going to keep trying and you're a wonderful singer, btw.

New subscriber. Sound advice here Adam. I started my singing career 4 years ago and learned very early on that lower notes are VERY necessary to master in order to sing higher. I started as Mezzo but am now soprano. I can easily reach C6 and on a GOOD day, up to F6. I have been told I am coloratura but not sure on that one!

You mean chest and head voice? Head voice is a different register. People usually can't differentiate between chest and head. I mean the audience, all they hear is what high and low and how strong it is. So those "high" notes should be in chest or in mixed to be powerful. "High" is also relative. Depends on your sex and vocal fachs AND YOUR CURRENT STATE OF CAPABILITY which can be improved.
