Hi Joe, it's been so long! how are you? I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Any chance I've convinced you to pick up a pencil and start drawing?

@@matthewdobrichillustration9014 Up and down. Back in the US now. My high school painting teacher called me a waste of talent. I just don't have the passion for making art at this stage, feels like maybe I did it in a past life. It's on the back burner. I do have a healthy appreciation for it, however. Been showing your stuff to friends who may be interested. Loving it!

The bad art god especially loves messing with your sense of perspective. Took me a solid 5 retries to get the perspective and camera position right for this medieval inn I designed to go towards me concept art portfolio. Already had the design decided, but man I think I learned to keep the camera at human level for exterior shots. Which may seem obvious but you have this instinct to almost want the camera floating 5 stories in the air. But I think its better to only do that for interiors and call outs. I think I heard the faint sound of laughter from the bad art god.. well! Silver lining is its better to get the bad art out at as soon as possible so that when its a career, you dont lose too much confidence 😅(as well as waste too much time).

Hahaha Yep, the bad art god punishes those who attempt difficult perspective, especially when drawing architecture! I spent some serious time trying to paint complex scenes in really weird perspectives, I think it's a great exercise... Bloody frustrating though!
