depends how fast you'll be playing. If it's above 200 bpm ever, I recommend the tightest spring tension you can stand and increase it until you hit the maximum Also, at least with the standard iron cobra pedals, I needed to get the harder springs from the speed cobras. Even with that I had to tighten it all the way though I also don't have my beater super far from the head. I think it's just above a 45 degree angle. Idk if that's considered close or not.
