At the beginning of the Sorcerer's Stone, it is explained that Harry's hair is untamable, because his aunt and uncle had made him cut it several times, and it had always mysterious grown back by the next day. People are very quick to forgive Snape for what he has done because he was there first. But Lily is not some object to be won over. For years and years he made the wrong decisions and only decided to change after she was dead, yet Snape gets alot of love even when its revealed that he bullies Neville because he thought he should've been the chosen one. James on the other hand clearly decided to change when he needed to. He grew up and it's ultimately Lily's decision who she wanted to love and she chose James.

Snape was horrible. He was a bully towards his students and Neville's biggest fear (considering that Neville's boggart was his own teacher!!). James was young when he was a bully but Snape was an adult when he decided to hate on everyone outside Slytherin. I don't see how a bullying adult is better than a bullying teen. Not saying James was perfect, but I do believe that Snape wasn't as good as most fans want to believe (though he did good in the end...).

It could have been neville instead of harry, which meant lily wouldve survived. Married young? Of course, we had the wizarding war, but when I think about it... Harry was 10 in 1990, so that means he's only 5 years younger than me. My own parents married at the age of 20 and 21 respectively and where 24 and 25 when I was born, which was actually the case for many couples at the time, and a lot married before reaching 20. It's really something of only the last few decades that people wait till their thirties or at least the second half of their twenties. My teacher for Dutch, who was close to the age retire at the time, told me that she once had to examine a 16 years old girl who just got married the day before her exam, which was back in the day that happened actually quite normal. So no, the ages of James and Lily Potter are neither exceptional nor shocking nor anything for marrying and giving birth to Harry.

I also heard that james wasn't actually a bully. When he used levicorpus, that was a spell that snape invented so james must have seen snape use it before. And when he was 'bullying' snape he was just punishing him for being rude to all of the muggleborns.

The so called sacred twenty-eight was compiled by a member of the Nott family that had a grudge against the Lord Potter of that time because he was a pure blood that stood against the discrimination against mundanes(muggles). It very sad that JK says things that are meant to prop up fans, rather than what she wrote. As from what we get there is no indication that Lily ever saw Snape as anything but a friend. As for the incident in 5 year we get only Snape’s biased view of that. Any event has more than one side. Snape’s comparisons between Harry and James outside of Harry looking like his father and having his mother’s eyes have absolutely NO basis in fact. In all honesty the character that acts like James according to Snape’s description is his own godson Draco Malfoy. Lily’s description of James was made in defense of her friend and as she was not present when the incident began had no knowledge of what started it. Snape was NOT an innocent. Lily does not seem to be the kind of woman that would love someone that treats children the way Snape does.

I love this seemingly "fairytale" story. Rowling is really a storytelling genius. But the HP story is more than a fairytale. In it everything means something else. It's symbolic double speak. If you read the books of Chr. Knight, you will realize that there is a parallel for it, a historical one. The names in it too, they often have double meanings. Dumbledore sounds strange, and it really means: "Dumb Leader." The person really represents the Roman Church, which has "prodigious magical skills." I don't dare to tell too many things I recognized in the HP story. Valdemort means "val de mort," that is, "death valley". And that person is in fact a real historical organization, which is not dead. The Muggles are we, the crowdn unaware. Hermione in fact means "The Hermaphrodite One". Hermione tells: "there was a Wizards' conference 1,ooo years ago - there was, in fact, in 1128 in Troyes, France. Read all of Christopher Kniths' books and if you can think, you will realize that the HP story is in fact a symbolic parallel to some historic events. Valdemort is alive, but I don't dare to tell you who it is.

The actors portraying his parents were too old. According to the books they were only 21 when they died. The actors were 34 and 43. I guess they looked the part, other than age, but it doesn’t fit the story at all.

At 8:25 she says lets not forget that the first Wizarding was taking place at that time, however the war with Gellert Grindelwald was the first one, (and you can't technically say that that war was civil war because then the war with Voldemort be one as well) and that ended in 1945, while both James in Lily were born in 1960, so there is a 15 year difference. Just wanted to point it out because I got confused when I heard it.
