Anyone who says Abby isn't abusive needs to look no further than Chloe. "If I can't throw them out, they can't quit. So no matter what I say to them they can't quit. So I just go for it." That's horrifying
@bradleyharris774

The people who say this are the same people who try to shame the girls for being "ungrateful" to Abby because of all the opportunities they've gotten. People just can't look at the bigger picture.
@fetteei5226
@fetteei5226 8 ай бұрын
Abby obviously treated all the girls terribly, but when it came to Chloe it was like she was letting the darkest, most evil parts of her out. People see a grown woman having so much hatred for a young girl and don't see that as abusive? Even after admitting that she purposefully tried to sabotage her, "i never wanted Chloe to win, she won all the time"?? That's not being a tough teacher at all. What teacher preys on your failure and downfall? I really hope those who still believe that she's just "tough" are kids who don't understand how bad that behaviour is yet, because any adult who thinks that behaviour is normal...yikes...i hope they don't have their own kids until they get that mentality sorted out.

Chole had the talent to become an amazing professional dancer. I remember the episode where Chole and Maddy auditioned for that NYC ballet company (can't recall the name) and they ADORED Chole. Its heartbreaking that the abuse Abby heaped on her destroyed that potential.

@WendieRenee
@WendieRenee 8 ай бұрын
Actually there was more than one time that Maddie and Chloe went for a major opportunity where Abby had no say to influence the outcome and Chloe won out over Maddie each time. Joffrey was one. I'm not minimizing Maddie's talent by any means, but had Chloe received the same level of attention and constant encouragement that Maddie received, I suspect she would have gone as far if not farther in dance. In fact, I wonder whether Chloe became a target because Abby was fearful of this. I remember that Abby was actually enraged when Chloe won the National over Maddie which is INSANE since both girls were on her team. None of this is Maddie's fault and in many ways she was traumatized by Abbey's abusive behavior toward her friends. That's why they aren't close today and she doesn't look back as that being a positive time despite being Abbey's favorite.

What sucks is that most sports for kids are like this. I was a wonderful ball player and my mother refused to kiss ass so I only played to score points then I was taken out. I use to beg my mom to kiss the coaches ass for me ): same with musical theater. All of it. It SHOULD be only based on talent but it’s not. It’s who’s parent gives the person in charge the most love. Not every parent CAN do that & the kids take the brunt of it all.. imagine punishing a child to punish to parent. And what’s worse is that even the kids who get the dances, the game, the solo…. They get bullied by other parents and other kids because their parent kissed ass. It’s such a cyclical thing in sports. Do better

She also had some contracts that made you stay with her studio until you completed the circle of exams that would take you a decade to get through.

Yes! I was a good bball player too and i could play pg or sg positions. The coaches at my hs will tell me to stop dribbling because you’re not going to do that in a game 🤔when i would practice. Huh? What do you mean I’m not gonna dribble in basketball? Why can’t i practice dribbling… because their favorites were the pg already. A lot of coaches screw people over because of their ego. They take a favorable talent and leech on so they can take glory of “player development” but the player was already developed before you. My jr and Sr year of HS were hell on the team because the new coach coerced girls to join because of me and my politeness in character. Meaning she used my good character to get girls to join because i was likable and then throw us to the waste to play her favorites. She screwed me out of a scholarship and her favorites got injured. Coaches that coach from ego do more harm than good.

Yes the producers couldn’t care less about what damaging effects this was having on the children, they made those children’s lives miserable but the mothers weren’t innocent either. When it comes to my children, you think that I’m going to sign a contract regarding their future, without first speaking to them and second going to a lawyer! If I did something that irresponsible and any of my children were spoken to and made to work and cry that much, they can all sue me and take me to prison because there’s nothing on earth worth allowing any children to be abused in this way.

i feel so bad for all of them but especially chloe! not only was she put against her best friend every single episode but even when she was clearly doing her best or was the clear winner that competition, she still hardly ever received credit. And im glad she had a mother so head strong and not afraid of abby especially at the end when abby made fun of a CHILD’S eye and christi said we’re done we don’t need this s*** anymore.

It BAFFLES me that these women signed contracts without lawyers first looking over them. How could they be so naive and so careless with their children's time? Executives telling you "if you don't sign this you're not on the show" is their way of pressuring one into signing a contract that likely benefits them more than anymore. It's a HUGE red flag. Maybe had they been smart and got lawyers they wouldn't of ended up contractually obligated to keep their kids in such a toxic and abusive environment for years and years. Their choice was hasty, irresponsible and reckless.

This show is why my niece when goes to dance class, goes there alone. The parents aren’t allowed in the dancing room while the kids are practicing. You get them there, wait until they get in the class and then u leave. You’re allowed to come back when they have finished the lesson. Once a year you can go and see how they do the lessons, but only once a year. This way the kids are focusing on what they’re doing and if a parent has a problem, goes to the teacher and speak privately after the lesson.

I competitively danced for most of my childhood and I always went to Dance Xplosion and the host of the award ceremony told us all how Dance Moms had reached out to come but wanted them to rig it for them to win, to which they declined. They said they wanted to make sure their competition was legitimate and not let them (Dance Moms) ruin that. I was a huge fan of Dance Moms at the time and it was very eye opening for me that made me look at it sooo differently.

let’s be honest, even though she was the favourite maddie was also treated HORRIBLY maybe not always by abby but definitely the mothers imagine being 8 and having all the pressure of the team on your shoulders AND hearing all the mother’s speak badly about your mum, saying you don’t overly deserve to win even though she worked her butt off and losing friends because of the positions the adults in her life put her in not to mention but WHENEVER her friends won she always is beaming with happiness for them i’ve noticed she often looks embarrassed at pyramid and frankly quite sad because no one ever cheered for her how she and everyone else would cheer for others let’s not forget that her home life was falling apart and she was taking care of kenz at as young as 6 because their dad wouldn’t i will never not defend that maddie.

I was disappointed by the Dance Moms reunion and the BS they tried selling us saying the moms were good at getting the girls out of the room when fights broke out. Like what?! No you didn't. I can recall multiple times when the moms were saying terrible things about one another and screaming at one another in front of their children while their kids sat there listening in tears. I was so confused by the narrative they were trying to push as if they went above and beyond to protect those kids in those moments. They didn't and we watched.

The favoritism… I was in professional gymnastics from age 4 until 16. For 12 years I trained 14 hours a week. My main trainer hated me. I was an essential member of our national competition team. But she treated me like dirt. Then one day, about 6 years into it, she was asked to babysit me and my sister while my parents went to the USA for five weeks. She completely changed. I still don’t know why she did that, and even agreed to watching us, but she became a different much nicer person. But the damage was done in my heart. I’ve never got an apology. It took me about 20 years to get over it and become someone who knows her own mind and learn how to deal with other adults who are bullies. What’s crazy is that the lady sounded exactly like Abby Lee. The raspy voice, the behavior, everything. I now know she was abusive, not “strict”. Listening to Abby Lee brings back those memories.
