In this video I wanted to do a quick comparison of Diamond colors so you can see how important it is or Isn't. How lighting affects colors. And how a diamond retailers trick you into buying a diamonds with a bad color. Color happens to be the C that if I were buying a diamond on a budget for my diamond I would cut back on.
Let me put up a Diamond what color is this? Do you even care when it is sparkling that much? Now lets put that diamond next to 2 other diamonds. Do you care now? Or are you still Looking at how sparkly it is. This is what is interesting about colors. Diamond retailers use lights to show off how sparkly a diamond is so you normally don't pay attention to the color nor do you care if it sparkles that much. But once you leave the store it will hardly ever be in such flattering light again... if ever, so good bye amazing sparkle. Now, people normally don't notice a diamonds color too much unless it is sitting right next to another diamond. So if you have a solitaire diamond ring the color will not be as important as a diamond ring with a lot of big diamonds next to it for subconscious comparison. In my opinion, if you are on a budget, as long as you stay above a J color it won't look too yellow unless it is sitting next to other more colorless diamonds, AND your money would be better spent on more carats or better cut to make the sparkle better. I bought a J, 1.52 Carat, Internally Flawless, Excellent cut Oval diamond from James Allen. I’m setting it in a yellow gold setting so the J color will still look amazing. I think she’ll love it! Thanks for your advice!

@@jonmposada7 Hey Jon! It was the perfect combination. She loves it. She is so happy wearing it every day. You cannot tell any difference between the color of it and any other diamond (it looks colorless). I would definitely recommend going a similar route.

Ummm say goodbye to the scintillation when you leave the jeweler? Yea sure on a poorly cut stone even on a GIA XXX. Cut is king and a good diamond will slice and dice in all lighting conditions

I color is still in the “near colourless” range as that range begains at G and goes to J G-J. In that range the color G would be the greatest and J would be at the tail end of the near colorless range. And being it is Si1 that is a very good clarity so it will look beautiful outdoors in the natural sun BUT indoor light you will discover that the stone has a yellowish tint to it as a G colored stone will look more like water. J color is fine though and shines beautiful!

Hey, just a heads up, I think the reason for “no sound” on the video is because the audio is out of phase. Meaning that the sound waves from the Left and the Right are effectively canceling out each other when they come out of the same speaker. I can hear the sound fine through headphones, but I can’t hear it from my phone’s loudspeaker.

Could they have selected a more included H color? Trip/Trick- a faint to medium fluorescence on H color can make the diamond appear a better color.
