Sounds like vipassana (mindfulness). By practicing vipassana you can read others better. Micro-expressions can become observable and readable-and depending on how much you practice you can get really good at it. I think maybe Crowley got stuff from Buddhism.

Thanks for that! I think what might have come first, is that Hubbard didn't want to acknowledge telepathy because it undermined the theory of his type of auditing, opening up the possibility that it wasn't just a process of objective listening to the PC but one where the PC might read and react to what the auditor wanted -- or even that the auditor might transmit to the PC what they wanted. And that also gets to other subtle but more conventional means of suggesting and leading the PC that I think clearly goes on in his style of auditing. On top of that I think he may have thought that he was powerful and adept enough that he could telepathically influence or control those under him, and didn't want them to be conscious of and guarding against that. Whatever the rationale, given his background with things like Crowley's work, he almost had to have been aware of telepathy and avoided bringing it up or offering it as an OT power deliberately. But I think it also makes sense that as you say telepathy's conflict with his theory of BTs was at work -- plus maybe with some other parts of his constructs we haven't even figured out yet.

Very good point you make about transmitting. We are constantly projecting our perspectives onto/into the other person, it is largely how we "relate" to each other. Just as we "relate" a story to each other. We become particular "selves" and/or take on certain qualities or characteristics in relation to what is being projected between any two people, and what they are projecting. This is something that Alan Walter observed and made some use of in his "Knowledgism", and I evolved an important technique from further developing that observation, I call it the personality image projection technique.

'leading the pc' .. is a no no .. tho that doesnt mean the pc isnt putting the auditor at cause ,, There has to be a reason for a session ,,, some goal ,,,, In my experience it was usually given or suggested ,, and then i would focus on 'where are we going with this' ?...I dont know about telepathy ,, never experienced it ,, but second guessing an expected outcome seemed to prevail. I agree about the 'status' point to ,,, most often used to keep the 'grade chart' in view. 'Abilities gained' seems to be in reality 'phenomena experienced' ,,, a distraction,,,or not.

Fascinating! I've always been super fascinated by the whole Crowley thing, he definitely laid down some out there stuff, like "creating a new universe" type of stuff. All the stuff about the 9th secret. Going with someone else's program is how to be spiritually dead. I like what you said about childlike wonder, looking at life with newness, free of the past or any "need" becoming in the future. (Like in Buddhism, dependent origination) The richest person is one who doesnt have to have desires, in the world but not of it. One of your most fascinating talks!

Not to be on Hubbard's side. But when I used to do meditation many many years ago we would from time to time have telepathic abilities turn on. And our teacher would say, that's interesting, now get back to your practice. Later on we learned that these are natural side effects of moving up towards "Enlightenment" but was only a distraction from the path. Acknowledge it but keep moving on the path. Its only a distraction that is not stable. Maybe that's why Hubbard didn't advertise the side effects....

It's anything but a distraction unless your "path" is toward separation from all. What we call "telepathy" is a bit of a misnomer, as I say in another video, because the prefix "tele" means "over a distance", and what it really is is a degree of penetrating the illusion of distance and separation, to sense and feel the "hereness" of all. Beyond the projected illusion of the physical universe, there is only "here", no "there", no "them", only "us-ness". Some forms of meditation direct focus inward, as opposed to true, pure, inclusive presence of all. That can bring momentary calm, and has value in that sense. But it's a very limiting path, unless it leads to recognition that the larger "self" is all-inclusive. (In my current view).

I wouldn't necessarily say every person, but it is an insidiously self-serving toxic culture, behind the PR and faulty "logic". Feelings are basically considered an unnecessary hindrance, and a sign of "being a problem". Unreal in their miltance, and totally about the end justifies the less-than-admirable means. The deeper in a person goes, the more the person's own self is buried.
