As always I enjoy and appreciate the videos you post up! The way you do it allows us to be walking right along with you and I can always trust that my 9yr old son can watch without hearing cussing of any sort. He is eat up with finding points and reads about the way the early ppl lived. Thanks again

I like your commentary on when you tell the viewer "I been in here 6 hours"...that went right over most people's head..but I fully understand your obsession because I've had it for years too...most times until my damn neck will be soar for a few days from looking down for rocks all day..LOL!! but it's always great to be out there with Mother Earth& her critters. @@Theditchwalker Not to be nosy but what part of Mississippi do you live in? Just curious because of the wide range of colors of the rocks you find..very cool..I'm in Pine Apple, Alabama.I call it the real LA...Lower Alabama but not as wide a variety on the color..Anyways, have a good one bro

Thanks for showin up. Your hunts are always interesting. Out here on the TX Plains I don't find much other than jasper, and mostly broken if they have any size to 'em. Farming is hell on artifacts. We find some medium size arrowheads of a gray rock I don't recognize. Jasper is easy to see, contrasts with our soil color. See ya soon!

Good stuff Ditch! I was eatin at Comer's the other day coming back from a trip out west and thought, dang Ditch is probably in that creek right there. I thought about jumpin in a few, but needed to keep on the move. BEAUTIFUL land in that area. I might be back!

Appreciate it man....haha your pretty dang close....there aren't any creeks this hot in Lee or Prentiss counties. Mantachie creek is pretty much sanded over and has been for the most part of 10 years...lost a good spot to hunt

I want to start searching the creek that is across the street from my house here in central NJ, and would love to get ahold of a sifter just like the one you use. I appreciate it very much Bob. I built this sifter myself using a yard fire pit top reinforced with half inch hardware cloth cut to fit and ziptied to the frame... the floating noodles were then split and also ziptied to the frame.

Reckon why is it most of the time when im digging if its a decent sized point most the time they are on top of the shovel pile? I noticed you said same thing. Ive always wondered that myself.

I think that the point gets scooped and slides off the shovel back down to where I'm digging and it comes up on top of the shovel in the ensuing scoops

Thanks for commenting....damage to the extent this point has brings the monetary value low ...in order for top money.,they have to be in top condition. Without damage...this point would be worth in the 2 to 300$ range

There is a spot on the Texas Gulf Coast just west of the Louisiana border at Sea Rim State Park / McFaddin Beach. This area was home to a now offshore native settlement during the last ice age. Points still wash up along with megafauna fossils. It ain't the prettiest place in the world, but I'd love to see you take a gander over there.

Studying types .,periods, and ages of these artifacts has fascinated me since I was ten years old. Most people think "arrowheads" are a few hundred to maybe a thousand years old...I pride myself on bringing their true age to light...glad I can be of some service to you sir...I'm gonna try to get on'em for us....thanks for commenting

whats yr best advice for hunting points in south ms? go north? lol ive found em in poplarville/ picayune ares but i live harrison county and cant find diddily around here it seems

Pretty much..😂....seriously though.,I used to find 75 to 125 a year in Northeastern Mississippi...Moved to Madison for several years...all I could muster down there was about 20 or 30 a year. Of course.,I didn't know the area and had fewer places to hunt. If I were you.,I would get a topo app and find the smaller feeder streams.

Someone explain how you find this. I mean the odds seem astronomical. If I drop a quarter in my yard its lost forever! So to be able to go dig for arrowheads or search the way he is doing and find so much history is crazy!

They have been eroding from the banks of this sandy creek for who knows how many years....stuff doesn't move down a sandy creek very much...everything that has ever eroded from the banks is accumulated in the waters path on the creek floor under the sand....thanks for commenting

Pinetree? It looks like it has a right-hand bevel. If it does then a Lost Lake or maybe a Hardin seems more likely

How were the drills used?

They were hafted in a handle and used manually and hafted onto a shaft for bow drilling....where the string is wrapped one time around the shaft and the bow is pulled and pushed back and forth..thanks for commenting

That's a loaded question...I have and would consider it...it's been offered .,but people can't or don't follow up because of distance....this place in particular is a pretty difficult hike to get to...many factors come into play when it comes to trying to plan a trip....what are your thoughts..?

I guess what I was trying to say in my other comment is that maybe when you find lots of flakes and no points that maybe the deep hole upstream catches the points because of the aerodynamic shape and density they drop faster.oh yeah I've got o exsperience at this but it sounds good!

@@Theditchwalker best of luck I'm a colo collector and the high parks we hunt some only have a few ft of deposition on top of really old sea bottom you can find almost anything on top where as the plains part of the state varies between either uncovered or buried with up too 12 ft of wind blown soil during the dust bowl days .so we hunt the high parks between mountains only one consistancy lots of volcanic rocks and trampled by a lot of buffalo and modern cattle finding anything big is real lucky and creeks and such are just rocks and water cant hunt like you do unfortunately but enjoy watching you good luck
