I live in northern ky is there any morel look alike that can hurt you if you eat them?
@emersonsmith2025 жыл бұрын
Can morels grow in rocky type area's. Like here in eastern PA. the hills are littered with rocky surfaces.
@thewildlink87855 жыл бұрын
A couple of my spot have alot of rocks. Just make sure you are looking around tulip poplar in a week or two and elms in early May.

If there was a fire in the past 2-3 years there, yes. If no, not likely. Just got done harvesting today from a moist area, that did have a fire ~3 years ago. About 3-4 lbs harvest.

Do morals grow in same location as chanterelle do
@thewildlink87855 жыл бұрын
Chanterelle grow mainly around oaks. Morels do not grow around oaks. Alot of times oaks grow on the south facing slopes but tulip poplar and elms grow on the north facing slopes where it is cooler and wetter.

Not sure but I heard finding morels around dead elm trees . Something else ; danelion tops taste close to mushroom . To prepare them takes time ; and patience . Once done right you eat the flower part . After you dip in batter ; and fry it . It should taste like eating mushrooms . It should not taste like something like green plant . If so then you did not do it right .

I got a great theory...... there Black and small starting out and then get grey as they age and then turn white when there mature and ready to Pick....... water those little 1s everyday if there close enough and find out ;) PPl just talk and of course they gotta Be right..... Pshhhh
@blakegivson48712 жыл бұрын
Sorry buddy but no... they are different species... you are a tiny bit right in the fact the young yellows can look like grays... but that’s about it.. grays grow for 2-4 days and stay very small.. black all grow to almost identical sizes and they grow for maybe a week but they are done when the yellows start.. yellows can grow for up to 3 weeks if not frosted or burnt.. so ur theory fits the timeline and I can see why u are compelled to think that way.. but they are definitely different.

Your crazy. No such thing as a half free mushroom. It will never ever get any bigger.
@thewildlink87855 жыл бұрын
Half free morel is the common name for Morchella punctipes (semilibera)
@cesileythorson36335 жыл бұрын
There are definitely morels that are called half free and they look exactly like that.
