Thanks for the podcast whilst I had some observations which I wanted to share. Intention is not to malign and I am open to learn and stand corrected. 1) As per confidentiality clause the client's case can not be specifically shared which was done more than once. Although names were not taken but it hinders therapeutic process and can create shame for client. Its is suggested not be done without consent of the client. 2) Calling Autistic client 'bechara' is again against clause and confidentiality. And also making them feel victims instead of making general public understand they are specially abled. 3) Deep Work is written by a Cal Newport a Computer Science professor. It is a sequel of his book So Good They Can't Ignore You. Book is mainly related to how to overcome performance plateau. Hence it can not be treated as work of psychologist who has years of experience. Cal believes in loving what you do instead of doing what you love. 4) Imposter's Syndrome is not part of DSM or ICD but saying its not part of psychology would be incorrect. Since its introduction in 1978 there has been umpteen work done on it. Its not defined as mental disorder but psychopathology does recognise this as an experience which leads to different illnesses. 5) Intution is beyond conscious and unconscious mind. There is a major role played in intutive therapy in psychotherapy where the therapist explores client's session based on therapist's intution. More so seems like the guest only knows talk therapy learned with western angle. It would have been an intriguing discussion if she had known about Islamic Psychology which would have given people an awesome insight. Moreso besides importance of mind, psychotherapy also inserts a lot of attention on dreams and body-mind connection. 6) For PCO or depression psycho somatic healing is very helpful. Besides hormones there can also be impact of environment, childhood trauma, primary and secondary wounds etc. 7) As a psychologist it would have been great if films were seen with current lens of patriarchy and misogyny. Moreover psychology behind understanding celebrities requires to study their patterns, personalities and charactar. Also how they overcome failures. Analysis are based on research and proper justifications. Showing you have studied their lives to draw any conclusions.
