What are you planting in the micro plots off that destination
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors2 күн бұрын
I mix it up all the time. Sometime annual clovers or buckwheat. Sometimes even sunflowers. Just depends what mood I’m in haha. I like to add the organic matter into the soils every other year or so. Sunflowers help a lot with that. I’ll even plant brassicas some years in the fall or even a wheat/rye mix.

Good job. I might frost seed southern Ohio with clover and try alfalfa as well. I also have some soybean left I might try. I need to also do some hinge cutting and dropping trees in a 15ac wooded area. I might even do a small food plot just inside the woods near a water hole.

I tried frost seeding switch grass in to a non prepped area. I went in ran a drag seeded and not much luck. Had alittle switch come up. I did frost seed clover into a food plot that was ate down to the dirt and my clover cane up really good. Im gona frost seed some switch this winter into a prepped area and gona frost seed clover into my existing clover were the bare spots are. Thanks for all the info
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors14 күн бұрын
No problem. Switch is a different animal. It can’t have any weed competition

Great video. You address a lot of the wild stuff I see guys doing on these online food plot forums. I saw a guy this past week post about getting Big Sexy on clearance at Tractor Supply and asking if he could frost seed it this week. I was like wrong seed and way too early even if it was clover.

Oh wow haha lol. I didn’t see that one but there’s a lot of crazy things people do. So I always try to touch on them. Thanks for watching

When is the best time to treat for weeds and what should I use to treat weeds that won’t kill my clover
@Whitetailobsessionoutdoors15 күн бұрын
Usually end of may to about June time frame you’ll know. When the grasses and weeds are taller then th clover and taking over. Use imox it’s the best thing I found to control grasses and weeds. I’ll make a whole video about it
