one of my favorite lines is “we are burning our fingers, but we learn and forget...” to me she’s saying we can be moved and affected by something in a moment, but then we go on with our day, on with our busy lives, and the feelings we had in that moment fade. but we need to remember that moment and do something to change, to be better.

The way I see it is like she’s the goddess of the earth. In the beginning she’s warning us, pleading, begging us to stop and listen to her, help her save the planet and life. As the video goes on, we see the different forms of live living, growing, etc. and the instruments build and build the more the song goes on to represent her pain and her anger to our ignorance. At the climax of the song it’s like she snaps. We wouldn’t listen, we didn’t listen to her and now we are going to feel her wrath. All of the pictures and scenes of nature are that of an angry goddess. A hurricane, pouring rain, etc. are all portrayals of how we are going to reap what we sowed. If we aren’t going to do what she asks she’ll make us, no matter the cost. It’s honestly super beautiful and the way she tells the story through her dancing and the visuals are just so beautiful. I love her so much

I know this is an old video, and you havent checked out her music for months, but yes, she does have other songs like this. "Warrior" is the best example in my mind. It doesn't have the same up beat tone, but that is why the message is so much more direct. her line "i don't remember the last time waking up to look at the world as beautiful" is just such a wonderful example of how she is so disappointing in how we are treating out planet. Another one with a more up-beat tone is "Apple tree" it seems like a difficult song to digest, but as soon as you realise the blood in the video, is us bleeding our planet, it makes sense. Her music is not always easy to interpret, and sometimes its just a fun song, but one thing that is consistent, her lyrics have multiple layers. Take care and stay safe!

There is always a message in her songs. She challenges us by bringing up subjects about the human nature and humanity. She is no shallow artist, and the combination of vocals, lyrics and performance is quite unique. Please react to The River, , dealing with human despair and dark feelings.

Aurora is so fascinating. One thing I find curious about her is her age. I'm sure she can be easily made up to look 12 or 30. Her songs and views have more maturity and wisdom than is attributed to any age group. She dresses like a teenager expressing themselves. She has the guileless quality of a child. In the interviews I've seen, watching her is like watching a spirit -- there are no walls, it's like she is showing you her soul (or rather, not hiding it like the rest of us). And since a spirit seems like an eternal thing, she seems ageless. And that's just one of the many things about her that amazes me.

There's a reason a lot of the louder environmentalists these days are coming out of Northern Europe. There aren't many places on Earth where you can see first-hand the damage we're doing to the planet to the degree you can there. Unless you live in the ocean anyway.

You should check out a collab Aurora did with a Norwegian band called Wardruna. The song is Helvegen, and is performed in Old Norse, with the final part by Einar Selvik (Warduna's frontman) is in Norwegian. The song itself is about death and dying, and the Norse traditions of singing to the dying about their deeds and accomplishments.

You want to see her HAIK concert. Our national broadcaster takes good musicians on a "hike" for a whole day (live-broadcasting it on radio) before taking them to a secret place where their band is waiting to hold a concert for a small group of fans - while the broadcaster has rigged the place with a multi-camera live recording set-up. (spoiler-alert - NRK rigged her live concert and recording studio in a forest nearby a 900-year-old abbey - lightening the forest up with mid-20th-century living room lamps and surprising her with a gift - a quarter of the small audience being a male choir hiding as audience until the end - when they chimed in on her song). As a live recording in the middle of an old forest - it is pretty good. Before you check out her concert from the 1000-year-old cathedral housing the burial place of the Viking that gathered Norway as a (maybe) Christian nation. My point is - you really want to check this young woman's live-performances more than her studio performances. Check out her Honda-stage concert.

Aurora said the makeup she's wearing is "a metaphor for showing your inner emotions on the outside, like the tears and the smile wrinkles that i like so much. its so cool when people get them. I cant wait to get mine for real" < quoted from the gal herself in an interview lol, I think that quote is a great representation of who she is overall! I recommend checking her out live, specifically Soft Universe live @ Nidarasdomen. Also I believe Norway is very heavy on keeping the area clean and being super environmentally friendly. They are very nature based people. they have one of the most efficient recycling plans. I'd say growing up in Norway has taught her the need to keep our environment healthy!
@SuffiReax4 жыл бұрын
Oh that makes a ton of sense, because that is how they are culturally, she carried that with her as she grew older and got into music and stuff, that environmentalism stuck with her. Very neat. It is nice to hear of a country that cares about the planet and the environment. And it shows too because it is a beautiful place

Thank you for a nice Aurora reaction. New sub here because if it. Aurora is really a complete artist. She wrote the music and the lyrics (in the documentary Once Aurora, her manager says that every one of Aurora's songs are at least 90%), the music video was just her and the camera man in a warehouse, they made the props themselves and she did her own makeup and wore garments she has used many times before paired differently with other clothes. Aurora is not only a singer, songwriter and producer, she is also a musician, playing the piano, the harp, drums and percussion, and she was the one playing the drums and percussion on The Seed studio version.

I recently discovered AURORA on a whim, late at night playing animal crossing (don't judge me lol) and listening to music on yt. And this video had been in my recommend section for days and so I was like "Ok let's check this out, if for no other reason than to get it out of this section." Whoa!!! I have not stopped listening to her since. She, in my opinion, is music personified. She has a depth I wasn't expecting. The video that made me a believer, a warrior, as she likes to call her fans, is her live performance in Iceland on KEXP. It's 30 minutes but it won't feel long enough I promise. If you're looking for just one song in particular I would recommend 'It Happened Quiet" on The Current. (All of this can be found on yt, someone listed most of the links already so I didn't see the need.) This particular performance is incredibly intimate and stripped of all pomp and circumstance. In short, it's raw. I really enjoyed your reaction and I'm looking forward to seeing what you react to next. Take care

Yes she definitely portrays and like personifies her music like you said. It is very unique cause I have never seen anyone do that. yeah, she's from norway, and altough there have been bad decisions regarding nature here (no doubt!!! e.g. Altaelva, dumping remains from mining in fjords, putting up windmills where they might harm rare owls and the like, building on farm land when only 3% of the country can be farmed,...), I'm afraid it's nothing compared to what's happening in other places. Norway is not a saint in this regard by far, but there are some gruesome examples out there that makes Norway look almost like a paradise. Which makes you wonder where the world is headed... and @Suffi Reax - thanks for a greatreaction and comments. And I agree - her beats, message and emotions are so important and full of impact!
