My first exposure to Shinobi is Shinobi III and Shinobi (Arcade) on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for Xbox 360.

Man, I been furiously looking for information about Shinobi series in the last weeks to do a video/videos of my own, and finding yours was a bless. There's some info in here that I had no found yet (specifically about the Easter Egg in Streets of Rage and the magazines/comic books). Great job you done.

Thanks, I appreciate it! Information on SEGA IPs and characters can be a bit tricky to find for sure.

Some great stuff there mate. One of the earliest Megadrive games I played was Revenge of Shinobi and I absolutely loved it. Good to hear he's a secret unlock in the PS2 Shinobi as I've not played that one yet. I grew up playing Revenge and GG Shinobi and reading the many Sonic the Comic strips he was in (there were 3 plus a poster mag special if I recall correctly!)

Shinobi 3 is one of the best games i ever play i try it on 3ds and the 3d was great!

I agree! I think Shinobi III led a good foundation of future 2D Shinobi games like Shinobi 3DS. I hope the new game lives up that expectation!

You know me, Kori! I’m always down for some ninja action! Shinobi was probably the first Sega title I’ve played that wasn’t done by Sonic Team and one of my earliest introductions to ninjas! I can’t wait for Joe Musashi’s big comeback! 🤩

This guy would even fight the likes of Spider-Man, Batman, and Godzilla to disband a terrorist organization and save his girlfriend.

Since super smash bros is bringing random charters I wish they can bring this character that would be awsome

Quick fact check: that wasn't Joe Musashi in G.G. Shinobi. That was one of his successors, or rather five of them, only known as Red, Pink, Green Yellow and Blue. Basically the Power Rangers of Shinobi lore.

It still uses his sprite though. They did the same thing for Ax Battler in the Master System version of Golden Axe. They used his sprite but changed the name of the character

I thought the conceit was that Joe Musashi rescued his four Ninja students, not that it was five new ninjas wholly

Honestly, the New Year had a VERY rough start for me. But I’m certain this is gonna be a fun and fruitful year! 😎👍🏾

I will get to her eventually. For now, I'm going to focus on the characters from the announced SEGA games at the Game Awards.

Great video but you completely left out footage from Shadow Dancer which Joe Musashi is the main character. He may have his dog in that game but it is very much a mainline Shinobi game just like the others you mentioned. I love the concept of your videos though. Keep up the great work!
@KoriMaruGaming11 ай бұрын
Which version of Shadow Dancer are you referring to? In the arcade version, the ninja is unnamed other than in the Master System version and the Japanese Genesis/Mega Drive version is his son, Hayate. SOA changed it to Joe Musashi when it was localized in the West. The white dog does have name though called Yamato.

@@KoriMaruGaming That makes sense as I was referring to the Genesis version
