I got this for my son on his 21 birth day. Now he has a watch that will work for him for years. Got him the gold version. Fits him well and looks nice. Small wrist looks nice. Probably upgrade strap at some point but nice to have watch that never has to be taken off and should not needed to be opened and serviced for many years so cost per wear will be low

That 24 hour dail not being a 24 hour chrono counter is something Fossil did on cheap quarts chronograph watches like 20 years ago, and that is my greatest problem i have with this one, especially for the price they are asking for it.( thanks for pointing it out, I would have been interested otherwise).

My Fossil Speedmaster from 2005 (that I still have) actually does have the 24-hour chrono dial on the right side. I doesn't however have the 24-hour AM/PM function on that dial. And it wasn't cheap at all. It was €140 at that time, 17 years ago. Taking into account the inflation from 2005 until today (~38,3%), that comes up to about €194 or $197.

The reason I was attracted to this watch, and I’m sure other people will be for the same reason, is because it looks similar to the Omega Speedmaster and the Rolex Daytona. If you like the look of those watches, but don’t want to sell your kidney to afford them, this watch could be a viable alternative.

Had plans to buy this when I saw the release reviews, then I saw it in the shop a few months later and was stunned at how small it looked. It would seem like an easy fix for Seiko to address the bracelet problem. they just need a clasp with 4 micro adjusts, in addition to a half link on the bracelet. Now, as for sourcing a 20 mm wide strap for the watch. That is pretty easy, and there are so many options, from dirt cheap to fairly expensive to choose from.

Maybe I’m just lucky my wrist size (7.25”) is the right size for this bracelet. I find it to be quite comfortable. In fact I changed it and put it on a Artem sailcloth - which is great by the way- but liked it better on the bracelet. I do agree that the pins that connect the links are not something I’d want to mess with.

Once you get to around the $500 range, a bad bracelet is fairly inexcusable. You can buy a good aftermarket solid link, solid endlink, milled clasp bracelet for $120. If that’s what we pay for them, they are probably under $50 to make for an OEM. Their junk bracelets probably cost them $20…I’d happily take the additional cost from the OEM to have a quality bracelet from the factory.

One other gripe ( it's Seiko, so far too easy..) : is there any A/R under, over ( both) on the crystal? Me thinks not. If one wants a mecaquartz chrono there's Chinese homages far cheaper and might satisfy 80% with far less outlay . I was going that way but I bought a Seiko jdm chrono just for the dial ( Oleg ( with bond) on KZbin (channel?) - it appealed to my base instincts ). Don't me us too long for another review Nick.

Depends. Absolute pressure at 90m of water depth is 10atm because you have included barometric pressure of 1atm at sea level. However the pressure within the watch has equalised with atmospheric pressure so an additional 10atm of water resistance equates to 100m. Purely academic I know!
