One of the most important things about the Selection (in my opinion) is that the girls who are drawn, previous to that date, are completely normal girls and I want that to reflect in the casting, if that makes sense. I can totally see what you mean with putting all three books in one 2 hour long movie, but I really hope they don’t... The amount of important scenes, moments, characters, and information that would be lost bc they obviously can’t put everything in one movie does not sit right with me. The series is written as 3 books, so should the movie be. I’d rather have 2 more movies with all the important scenes and information in it, even if it means dragging it out a bit, but that’s just my opinion. I read the first book when I was 12, I am now almost 20. I hold this series and it’s characters very dear to my heart and I just really really hope they don’t mess it up. I’m going into this with little expectation (I don’t have much faith in Netflix pulling this off) but a good casting and a good script is all I’m asking for. Also your casting for America and Maxon is SPOT ON!

i love austin, don't get me wrong, but i honestly can't really see him as maxon. i feel like maxon is more manly and muscular and austin as an actor seems kinda small and powerless (maybe that's just how i see topper). i didn't know who the hype guy for maxon was, but i searched him up and i think he fits it really well. he has an assertive but sweet look to him and it's definitely the closet representation of maxon that i've seen so far. just my opinion! and i low key see drew starkey (rafe on outer banks) as a better fit for maxon than austin north. plus his acting is crazy good. i love the idea of abigail cowen as america, but another actress i think suits the role is ellie bamber. she's just so elegant, but has that splash of passion in her look that i visualize america to have.

I'm low-key embarrassed but mostly just sad about how many times this book has been picked up and dropped by different people so I'm really hoping that this is The Selection's moment to shine! I totally feel the same about loving all the adaptions netflix has done, they're not perfect but they've never been straight out bad so I think it will be great! The fact that the CW thought they could do a YA novel series like the Selection justice is beyond me. They completely changed anything remotely important about the characters and the plot. When I first heard that the selection was becoming a movie I was super excited. The more I think about it though the more I'm kinda worried about it. I have a perfect picture of all the characters and I loved the book so much. Having a movie for a book kinda ruins it (for me at least) because if I reread the book instead of picturing what I think the characters and scenes look like I picture the actors and stuff from the movie. i really dont know why everyone is hating on madelaine :( i am a fan of her and i can totally see her playing america because as we all know america is a really nice person but she can be mean for example the first time she met with maxon lol and i think madelaine could definetly give that vibe (im not saying america is mean btw i am just saying she has that vibe sometimes) and i am totally fine with abigail playing america she is a very pretty actress but i would rather madelaine because i think abigail gives very soft vibes

I think the guy from Spinning Out would work but they’d have to give him contacts (he has blue eyes and Maxon has brown) I haven’t watched Outer Banks yet, so idk about him. He seems to look like Maxon somewhat, I think. Also I’ve heard people on Instagram say they’d like these actors to be Maxon: Michael Provost, Froy Guiterrez or Max Irons. Abigail Cowan would be amazing casting for America. She fits perfectly, looks wise. She also has ties to Netflix since she was on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and is playing Bloom in Netflix's live action adaptation of Winx Club! We all know Netflix likes to use actors they've worked with before.
