I really liked the glasstic samsung used on the note 20s, it looks and feels really nice without being as fragile as glass and is cheaper for the manufacturer and I'd really like to see more of that. I was never a fan of glass backs for the fragility and how easily it got scratched.

I still use my G flex 2 to this day. Mainly as a remote for my receiver and for the lights in my house. You can actually bend the phone quite a bit, and it will flex back. The healing back works great for smaller scratches from keys for example. Best phone finish has to be the leather on the G4 by the way. Felt super premium at the time and never seen anything like it again.

@@pigeon1923 That is really silly to have to carry a bag everywhere or only where clothes with specific GIANT pockets to carry a laptop? I can easily fit a double screen phone phone in any clothes and have it easily accesible in my right pocket. There is a reason why people have their phones on them 24/7 everywhere they go but this is just not the case with laptops that have powerbricks, and are a hassle to pull out and I can't just easily work with my lapop anywhere, I need to find a table and a chair. I can literally pull out my phone standing or on a bus or car easily while commuting. You're trying to make a comparison and it is falling short all over the place. Plus I have vision problems, I'm legally blind. It is a pain in the ass to work on a laptop and I will be breaking my neck to see it. I can bring up double screen phone to where I can see it and work on it just fine at the same time. Double screen phone is just ideal in basically every single way.

The G Flex was designed to be able to withstand a flex and return to shape without breaking. The scratch healing capability was for light scratches. Not a gouge with a knife. The Axon M screen mirroring was so that you could tent fold the device and two people could experience the media playing at the same time.

LG had that on one of their phones. I think it was the G flex. I should have listened to the whole video. He said the LG flex in the video. But I remembered that because I am a long-time LG user. For me, it started with my first smart phone, the Optimus G. It was a fabulous phone for the time it was released I think 2013. The back was glass and had a very unique pattern. I didn't even realize until just recently that it also had face unlock. From the Optimus G, I then bought a G pro (5 of them-good deals on E-bay). Then a Korean model of the G-pro 2, which LG never released in the U.S. (complete with the TV antenna). Then I bought a G3, which was the first phone to have a 2K display. Then I got into the V-series. Since LG decided to abandon the cell market, the last LG phones I bought were the velvets. They received a lot of lukewarm reviews, but I think it is a gorgeous phone(especially the illusion sunset). That's my rant. I do use other phones, too, including Samsung, Nokia, Xiaomi, Sony, Hauwei & Motorola edge+.

The wooden back of my Moto X 2 looked and felt amazing. Plus it was totally resistant to almost anything. No idea why glass has become so famous, since it is by far the most fragile and sensitive material, that looks pretty crappy once it is broken.

I loved the wooden back Moto X devices, they looked so sleek and stood out from other phones that were flagships at the time. I really wish they'd bring that back on some of their devices as a choice.
@HydetheRapper3 жыл бұрын
The fragility of glass sucks, and even if you can keep it whole (I have never broken a phone screen or back, knock on wood), it gets scratched up. I’d love to see more wood, and metal deserves more love too. Glass is pretty, but a pretty bad material for a phone back.

@@notlNSIGHT nah wireless charging works thru just about anything hence why it can be built into wooden tables, metals might screw with it a bit tho
@randomcow5053 жыл бұрын
The reason for wooden backs not being as popular is A. it's pretty niche B. they are a bitch to manufacture, wood is nothing like metal or glass where its all the same and easy for a machine to produce and handle. every bit of wood is different, even 2 bits from the same tree will be different, and so when you are trying to mass manufacture phone backs with tight tolerances from it, most get thrown out because they are warped, or cracked or in some way flawed

I had a Moto Z Force (tougher, slightly thicker version of the Z) Very few phones have ever impressed me as much with their design. It was cool because it was thinner than any phone I used before, and expandable. I wound up totally ditching thinness for the massive arrangement of the phone with either a speaker module or a battery pack on the back, depending on what I was doing (both were about an inch thick)
