i really feel uneasy about how much is said to be in subnautica 3, the thing I like about the base game is how it was something you can digest and something that feels in-depth. the idea of character customization worries me a bit, same with multiplayer. And it would be very upsetting to see subnautica turn into a big multiplayer game because I feel like the best part of what made it so submersive was the fact you are alone on an alien planet. I really hope they just don't overcrowd it with so many crazy things at once.

I'd hate if subnautica 3 would just be more of the same. Below zero was pretty underwhelming in a lot of ways and i feel its good that they are trying to step up their game

I hope SN3 will do a lot of world building, and I expect it will. But especially regarding Alterra's corruption and the other transgovernments, there's a lot of potential for the lore to get very indepth. We already got more than a taste of it with SN1 and Below Zero, and they did a damn good job, so I have high hopes.

The Architect drone looks like a reaper leviathan with the way the eyes are and the body form, I wonder if it was able to blend in with them or scare off other leviathans

I loved building all kinds of stuff in the cyclops and it was tight so I really maximized all the storage, plants and stuff that I could fit while still looking good and being able to move around in it. Having a ton of space to play with in the Atlas would be awesome. I used my Cyclops as a go between my many small bases throughout, prehaps the atlas could have the capabilities of being a literal home base even being able to fully recharge itself with geothermal or solar energy without ever having a need to stop at a sea base

I would love to see the new game include a larger submarine that can navigate a certain area to continue the story. Possibly something about it that allows it to navigate through a certain zone to locate a precursor asset or something

I do hope that the next subnautica will still have the fundementals of the first two like it being a firstperson, underwater water survival game with it's amazing story telling and beautiful but terrifying creatures. Because I think it is a good gameplay loop just needs to be expanded upon

I love that Atlas model! It's so amazing! Since the model is still in development, I think the map room would look better if the map table itself was bigger, and maybe displaying the whole crater. That's just my take lol.

Good video! I have had the Tech Pistol installed for about two years, and I love it, and I always set the Laser damage to 100 or max to kill enemies easier/faster.

NO ANT I think it’s a sub given a natural take with nature it’s jointed to move with joints no propellers. Or it’s a robot beast meant to kill the garg leviathan. Any one else think that. Also think of it the big glass bridge could break off into a escape pod. But like as a captain escape pod then those other pods could all hook up the the bridge pod by like a tow line then you can rebuild it and that would save resources and if everything was destroyed then it would take more to make a new one.

I would love an optional multiplayer subnautica game but I don’t want one that is like an MMO because the feeling of intense loneliness and no familiarity is essential to the subnautica gameplay. My guess for the game straight up is that it will be a interstellar game. It will likely be similar to no man sky where you go to different planets with different creatures and different resources. This would explain why it would be live service because they could be continually adding more planets to go to and explore. If this is the case it would be insanely cool because the subnautica gameplay style in new environments like a desert or forest or a giant snow planet (like the above ground section in below zero) could be awesome.

I think, the architect drone thing in the cannon pool is maybe a robot leviathan to collect more info about them? Because the circular part are linked together like a spine that could move. It's just a theory.

that would make sense, its like a scout leviathan and i think it would like scan the creature for caraa with the big lamps/eyes/scanners, and also behaviorel patterns, like if would be aggressive or like reefback and just mind its buisness, it looks like much of the design comes from the ghost leviathan wich would emply that it would be around the void ish area

I think with the atlas, it is just nice to have a base you can move around the crater, you did usually want to take the Cyclops down into the river, but that was also making a base down there. I think the Cyclops would still work for that kind of deep diving role, but you can definitely make something out of the atlas. I see it has a scanning room compartment, what about an automated mining drone bay? Then you could drive it around for the purpose of strip mining the map. It's still decent as a replacement for several bases, since you can just build the atlas and run your game out of that thing instead.

Just an idea, but imagine where all this frameworking could go. In the first two games they were able to make some really great biomes and some pretty cool surface stuff. But I think there's a potential to add some flying to the universe too. All terrain... Their focus is on underwater but if you incorporate floating alien bases in the sky, sky leviathans, maximum height damage, along with surface level island bases.. you have to go deeper to get the sky upgrades, then you can fly a little higher to the next base, but the one after that has a defense turret, so you use ocean depth upgrades to go deeper into the ocean to find upgrades to fly higher until eventually you could fly your own ship off the planet, and you'd be actually flying it instead of the cool little trick they did in the first game.

id love for the atlas to specifically be a multiplayer version of the cyclops. id love for it to be a functional for a single player but very difficult, or with a crew of players making it much more managable. maybe each escape pod can take 3 players, so it is a team of 12 at most or 1 at minimum.

personally, i would prefer if the atlas remained large and the bridge untouched. If I was worried about fitting into places then i would take my cyclops. The Atlas strikes me as a more fulfilling 'mobile base' over the cyclops. So while the Cyclops would be used for exploration in areas with large cave systems/cave biomes and the like, the Atlas could be more of a proper base that I could take to places like the dunes, paths, and relatively flat biomes for large scale resource gathering and the extra space would allow us to place more furniture for a proper homey feel.

Subnautica 3 might be kinda like ark, it gives you a basic map (the island) and you “ascend” when you beat the boss or something and get more rewards, or you can choose what map you want to play, (ark adds maps every so often)
