You left out the pure apathy of the cops. The fact that many parents begged them to find their kids and for cops to flat out ignore them, even telling them "Why are you even here? You know you're kid is just a runaway". Many kids were labeled "runaways" rather than actual "missing" people.

I grew up in the Houston Heights area at the time of these murders,actually knew the younger sibs of several victims.The thing that struck me the most back then was the hysterical guilt fueled reactions of parents,teachers and cops after it all came to light.They had dismissed the missing boys as runaways and never looked closer.suddenly we had cops in class rooms,teachers and parents lecturing us about strangers and creeps.They often would take an almost morbid delight in describing what was done to the victims in an effort to frighten us( I guess).In the end all it did was make us(even more)suspicious of strangers.

His behavior is so utterly reprehensible and dark that it's truly unthinkable, and actually unspeakable. God if only Dean actually had good intentions with that candy. I’m sure those children really did get joy out of those candies. It really is sad that he was such a terrible person, he could’ve really made people happy

I have heard about this guy but not much. I've always wondered why his evil story isn't as well known as all the other monsters. I mean, think about BTK. He's a monster and as evil as it gets but the candy man's crimes are much more heinous. Yet many people have never heard of him.

Not gonna lie, the art style could certainly do with being just a little bit more complex, and look a little less child-like, since that does sort of make the vibe feel off, but other than that I absolutely love these videos. It tells the tale of all these murderers that isn't super "creepy" and more casual, and isn't over the top with cheesy music and editing. Keep up the good work!
@tunesofeleven2 жыл бұрын
Wasn't it so easy to catch him at his first such crime? if a boy went missing after attending his party then other boys would have told that he went missing after the party, especially when it became a pattern.

As late as 2018, the 29th victim was discovered when a film maker going through Henley's possessions found a polaroid photo of a terrified handcuffed young boy in surroundings matching Corll's home. He has not been identified and is not amongst the known victims. There's a real possibility that Dean may have killed way more than 29 victims. Heck there's even suspicion than Brooks and Henley were not the first accomplices and that Corll may have had other accomplices before them that he then killed. Guess we will never know.
