The Series 5 Ambient Slim Boom Poles

The Ambient Series 5 boom pole line replaced all previous models of Ambient boom. Many lovers of the thin Ambient 4 section boom poles were in shock because all of the Series 5 boom poles were 5 section. I say "were" because Ambient has now introduced the Slim Long and Short 4 section boom poles. I'm excited to share these new boom poles with you in this video.

I would never sell my QS boompole, this masterpiece! Last time I have spoke to Ambient was 2023 summer which had one available. My next one will be Q5 slim! Thank you for sharing Allen!

Hi Allen, thanks a lot for the fair review, as always. Love Ambient too and I am really looking for this new series as the slim diameter feels better in my hands. But I am concerned about the max length compared to the QP5150. Does the QP 120 extension fit with this new QP slim series ? If not, what pole would you use when you need more than 17 feet ?

That's a great question. I'm assuming it does because the flow thru (QAEST/QPSCM) works on the Slim just like the QS/QP Series 4 booms.

I prefer thinner boom poles so I'd go Slim any time. That's just me and my preference though.

I like it for putting it on stand because it has internal coiled cable that does not hang out like the ambient slims plus its stiffer for that kinda set up but but im curious if you like the slim 17 ambient because when booming its lighter

There's a certain connection to objects that gets made with having them. But at the same time the more you have something you more you learn the idiosyncrasies of that item, what works, what doesn't. And then the manufacture discontinues, it comes out with a new one. Hopefully they've improved things but they don't necessarily take input because then somebody might know that they're working on a new model. oh what a shame that's top-secret government information and the end of the world. what would happen if thay just asked the customers what they liked and what they didn't. OK I have to go now I'm off to Ebay to buy some Random thing that's been discontinued before I could purchase it and the new version is worse.....
