A book I read once called The Cosmic Serpent written by an anthropologist working in the Amazon is an interesting read. After doing an ayahuasca ceremony and having a vision of a snake, came up with an interesting theory. This was that the shaman sends he consciousness down to the level of DNA , Think about it DNA is the blueprint for life. The vision often seen is of a coiled serpent coiled up in a pool of water spitting fire. DNA is crystalline and it has been theorised that it could generate a morphic field of resonance. Maybe all of life on earth is generating some kind of electro magnetic field that we can tap into in altered states of consciousness.

Hi thanks for the well researched video. Two Questions: Isn´t the snake also a symbol of the sky, like Qebehut in Egypt or Quetzalcoatl in Mesoamerican cutlures or the dragon itself, and the entering of the snake into the earth also an - obvious - symbol of sexual intercourse? Therefor I argue that the snake is less a smbol of the earth itself and more of a "coming together" of different elements (sky - earth, spirit - matter, phallus - noni) to create life/the egg. Secondly, do you think that the increasing success of sky, weather & sun gods can be associated to increased sedentism at this time? Like, if you want your crops to prosper you need timely rain and sunshine & no destructive hail, while in a hunter gatherer dominated society, "what the earth gives you" is more important.This would also be reflected in a loss of importance of women as givers of life to chieftains as protectors of crops, as well in in society as the patheon.

I have two ideas for why. It's going to be a mess trying to explain them both... Quick and dirty comment compression of ideas, go! One is more alien based, the other is more science and Magick based. I think it has to do with beings coming from the sky and taking a more predominant role... they had male-dominated societies. And as they took over humans began to also assimilate their ways. (The Book of Enki as translated by zecharia sitchin) The Earth was effectively invaded after the Squating Man event by a different group and of different beliefs. This event of giant plasma storms and the rearranging of the solar system (cosmic explosion billiard ball'd the solar system and gave us the moon and the asteroid belt from now dead planet) and thus the properties over life on earth (the lost Golden age / garden of Eden stage of humanity) , which humans survived these deadly storms by hiding in caves... And these cave drawings are scientifically accurate drawings of these plasma storms from their perspectives which change based on distance form poles, the sources of plasma, like the northern and southern lights...but on steroids. In Norwegian caves these actually looks like boats because of their proximity to the north pole. These storms already looked like Gods but they also could have easily been manifestations of such energy, too. Seeing these storms on drugs could have also been a very powerful way to channel those beings, too. Point being, I think science (the matter side) and energy (the magick side, which has it owns evolutionary path) are two sides of the same coin.. in the Ramayana epic from ancient India, the heroine Sita is 'born' from the furrow in the earth where the ground is being broken by the king of the land (in fact her name mean furrow). this ground-breaking ceremony is being performed because the king and his wife were not having success in conceiving a child. Sita is the daughter of the Earth Mother Bhumi Devi, and no divine father is mentioned in her conception (as far as I know of anyway). this links to the ideas mentioned toward the end of this lecture, about ceremony being required for the breaking of 'virgin land'.

Quetzalcoatl the feathered serpent deity worshipped in the Meso Americas also seem to recall this history. The pyramids also displaying the effects of the sun and this undulating power coming down to the earth via the solar rays. The Serpent Cult is worldwide, and as ubiquitous as World Trees, not just in Eurasia. And in many places where another religion has supplanted it, there is a dragon-slayer myth along with it. In mainstream Shinto (which focuses on Sky Gods) Susano'o no Mikoto (the Storm God) slays Yamato no Orochi, a multi-headed dragon that eats princesses... Meanwhile, a Sea God named Ōwatatsumi or Ryuujin is a dragon that nobody in their right mind would molest. Perhaps this is a mixed bag of conquest of and an assimilation into a Serpent Cult. In the cosmology and creation legend of the Cherokee Indians there is a world tree, a great antlered serpent called Uk'tena (associated with life, death, the underworld, water, medicine, fate, etc..), and no attempt to slay said Serpent. Though older writings speak of him in glowing terms while newer ones fear him, quite likely because of missionaries. Then in the Maya and Aztec faiths is a Feathered Serpent who is considered the creator God, and the later Sky Gods seem to just coexist. Alternatively, some Native American cultures worship Gods who take the form of large predators such as Mountain Lions, Jaguars, Panthers, Bears, and Wolves. The big cats are the most popular it seems though, with the ancient Inca city of Cuzco having been built in the shape of a Mountain Lion, the respect of Eastern Woodlands tribes for the Water Panther, and the use of Jaguar fat mixed with achiote seeds as a body paint for battle in Central America.

When someone regularly uses some "sacred medicines" (those that grow in Europe), with the intent to heal and grow and be tought by benevolent spirits, they may come accross that kind of material. Such videos are really helpful to try and make some sense of it all! So thanks for your work! Those informations feel encrypted in the air, in the ground (I mean the soil, not PVC floors!), but never in such an articulate way: more in the shapes of images and intuitions. The notion of morphogenetic fields, developped by Ruppert Sheldrake, can help wrap our head around how such ancient information may still be around.... maybe because nature's got a memory... But also simply because it may all be more "real" than just myths ("real" in some way, not in the way that thre's a "serpent" at the center of the earth, more something like a "spirit")! To me the ancient gods are truely what we now call the atmosphere, the planet, etc... Even the notion of the self as "being" an egg in some way (whatever that may mean), may alo show up during work with entheogens. It's not just the earth, the cosmos... It may be each human being as well. And maybe it takes some special kind of "midwifery" work to get to the hatching phase. I've come to believe witchcraft is a sort of midwifery, meant to help the self & the spirit of the planet hatching. "Energetic" kind of work such as yoga or tai-chi can be part of the work (especially when practiced in physical direct touch with the natural ground, barefoot), as well as the use of entheogens, special diets, time alone in nature... And the self would not be the only spirit needing to be tought and needing to mature, but the spirit of the earth itself too. It might be an embryo as much as a father and a mum, somehow, requiring care as if it was a baby... So far I've come to see the spirit of the planet as a phoenix, that sometimes dies or falls asleep and then gets awaken/reborn again... Like a dragon kind of a phoenix (or vice versa), a feathered kind of a serpent, with horns, too, maybe? Are dragons supposed to have some kind of horns?! I wonder if you have a video on entheogens or if you plan to get there someday?

I live near Cahokia, a Mississippian city built near St Louis, Missouri that was originally settled circa 500 BCE by indigenous people who were part of the southeastern ceremonial moundbuilder complex that included several tribal nations. There is a stone statue that was unearthed by archaeologists called The Birger Figurine- a woman kneeling and hoeing the ground. The ground is actually the back of a serpent with the face of a cat. The city was built on a diamond shape and the length from the top to bottom is called the Rattlesnake Causeway. The people who migrated away from there still do a Snake dance ceremony and wear shells during the dance to imitate rattles. I've only been to a couple of dances as an observer because I have in-laws who are from the Natchez/Muskogean people. The serpent belief is universal.

It seems to me when people speak of the giants, serpents or whatever as being “evil” maybe what they mean is actually mysterious, because like evilness mysterious beings can also seem as bad characters at times-tricksters maybe. We humans have always had a need to control things and beings, being insecure and all. This could be why the fae have been seen as “evil” also. Maybe one day we won’t feel the need to label and demonize everything idk

Indo-european spirituality and religious concepts are completely different and in sharp opposition to christianity. Christianity encourages blind faith and ignorance (believing without seeing), while indoeuropean religions are based on knowledge and self-elevation, illumination. Christianity justifies weakness, indoeuropean cults are based on power, christianity expresses a morality of slave sheep-flocks, indoeuropean religion expresses a morality of warriors, enlightened beings and kings. Christianity preaches the infamous "original sin", while indoeuropeans didn't have anything similar. Christianity is based on a deeply unhealthy sense of guilt and impotence, indoeuropean religions on self-realization. How are these any similar? Because they both have a sky-deity? What if i told you the supposed sky-deity of abrahamic religions is actually a bloodthirsty, insecure, jealous and devilish entity whose goal was and still is the demolition of any other religion on earth who only stole the role of Baal the cananite storm god? In Kabbalah and Egyptian lore, they say there is a Snake and a Hawk involved in life and creation. In kabbalah there is also Hebrew letters and Magick associated with both, as I understand. I'm not an expert in either but it's something I've noticed. And the Dogon tribe of Africa is said to be descendants of the Original Egyptian priesthood who went into hiding.. They talk about a world snake and egg as well... And that the egg has like 11 shells / dimensions and the last one is cracked open, which people say ties into String Theory or adjacent theories in Quantum Physics... (Also String theory seems wrong and has no proof, other similar ideas are better candidates, IMO and others who don't need grant funding in the topic or married to the theory their whole career lol)

This is great, the only issue with saying that anything “started” at a specific place is that prior to separated consciousness, one could be anywhere on the planet and generally the concepts with the most “attention” were known without needing to be spoken. There’s alot that can be said about that. So the Natives or indigenous peoples of north and South America have their knowledge and recognition of the plumed serpent, because it was apart of reality, not so much because it was a shared concept of thought. Being related to Naga, and the history of the Naga was not a religion or teaching but reality, and reality becomes legends and Mythos (absolutely true accounts) although too many people need to see it to believe it or it becomes lore. I'm not aware of any claim that the Buddha came from a "Nāga dynasty". The Shakya clan to which he belonged traced their lineage to the Ikshvāku or Solar dynasty. It's also generally understood that the term "nāga" as applied to the disciples refers to the elephant, renowned for its strength, but term is polysemic so it's not impossible to draw a comparison. The community didn't tend to live underground, but that does draw attention to the point that nāgas were among the keepers of the Mahāyāna or Great Vehicle teachings in the early days of the current dispensation. Lastly, Kundalini is not a Buddhist concept, but Hindu. The closest concept that resembles this is Candali (Tibetan: Tummo) which is more akin to fire rather than a serpent.

Don't you think instead that the serpent myth relates to gods of order that are show defeating a force that is deadly to humans? Serpents have many meanings, but to ignore their dangerous aspect is strange. They are feared instinctively by most people.

Lilith as a serpent. Lilith an ancient female of the abrahamic faith was Adam's first wife. Lilith demanded equality with Adam which was denied to her and the continued inequality angered her. Lilith left Adam and went into the wilderness where she met chaotic forces which were defined as being evil or demonic by the abrahamic faith. Adam's first wife was thus defined as an evil demon who had joined forces with demonic entities. Lilith is considered by many ancient biblical scholars to be the serpent that lured Eve into the garden of eden. Lilith from then on was associated demonically with the serpent who in turn was Satan who lures you to temptation. So in short. Lilith the first woman on earth was demonized for insisting on having equality with her mate, Adam. Her punishment for leaving Adam to go into chaotic wilderness was to be demonized for all eternity. Lilith encouraged Eve to taste the forbidden sacred knowledge of ancient fruit/ truths and her punishment for this Lilith becomes 'satanic'. Eve having succumbed to the temptation and tasted the forbidden fruit of ancient knowledge thus consigned all women to be viewed as weak in will and mind and thus must be controlled or ruled over by men. A view that persisted for centuries due to the patriarchal nature of the abrahamic faith. Lilith is now a modern feminist icon due to her fight for equality in the biblical myths and is revered by many women as being an ancient goddess who evolved through paganist thought throughout the ancient world. When religion emerged Lilith's intelligence and power were used for twisted propaganda purposes to completely subjugate women and keep them under thumb of men. All hail Lilith.

My father was a christian preacher and bible scholar that made me read the bible when I was young.... Trapped me into alot of subconscious fear for alot of my life... Hello Arith. On the relationship between serpents and Christians, in the Bible story Eve is tricked by THE Satan when The Satan takes the form of a SERPENT, it is quite interesting that the Satan had to taken the form of a serpent to trick Eve into eating and sharing the forbidden fruit. Which raises the question, Why did the Satan change into a Serpent? As you said in your amazing video the serpent has Great Meaning and Purpose for Humanity and has trusted by Humans for being symbols of wisdom etc! The Satan was close to God so we can assume that the Satan knew humans, so how could Satan trick them? Maybe by putting a mask of the one you trust...the one who knew was wise... it would be easier to fool you. Maybe. Also the curse that God gives to the Satan is that it will forever bear that form BUT it will forever crawl and eat the dust of the world etc, seems very especific...Again maybe the Serpent or Dragon form used by the Satan corrupted our ability to trust True Serpents and Dragons, for they were servants, guardians and messengers of God. And a last thing I thought was, normally when you SEE or EAR of a Serpent God or Dragon God it is always, or most times, of the FLYING TYPE with WINGS! What Christians do is judge the serpent based on the story of the garden, we aren’t supposed to judge (I’m guilty) but Jesus himself tells us to be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove. Christianity is not a Roman invention. Rome was only one (first among equals) of five ancient patriarchates. I'm Greek Orthodox and your understanding of the history of the spread of the early church is not accurate... perhaps your understanding of Rome's Christian history is accurate for Western Europe.. but not for Christianity as a whole. Rome broke away from the other 4 patriarchates (Constantinople, Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem) in 1053... So Christianity is way bigger than Roman Catholicism... and eastern Christianity has many differences in beliefs than Roman Catholics... I myself have much that I disagree with in Catholic dogma... thank you for your videos... I've learned so much about my ancestral beliefs
