Welcome to the Seven Tubs Nature Area, over 500 acres of accessible public lands located just outside of Wilkes - Barre Pennsylvania. Over thousands of years and largely due to the last glaciers that covered the area, Wheelbarrow Run has carved out a mini canyon down a hillside that features crystal clear rushing water. As the stream meanders towards Laurel Run it alternates between small waterfalls, fast flowing chutes, and large circular depressions that look like nature made swimming pools. These are the "tubs" the area is named for. A small sign and access road off of route 115 lead to a large parking area where a footpath begins. DISCLAIMER - This area is super popular for locals to use as a swimming hole and the internet is full of videos of people doing just that. If you are interested in exploring this area for its natural beauty, tranquility, and admiring the amazing geology arrive early, during the week, or in the cooler months of the year. As amazing as the Seven Tubs are, the larger Laurel Run is also quite scenic and photogenic. I was amazed by section after section of beautiful mountain stream ambience. A 2 mile loop trail leads from the tubs to the top of a hillside, then descends to follow Laurel Run to its intersection with Wheelbarrow Run making a perfect manageable hike with LOTS to see. As always, this film represents my own unique take on this area and I how i experienced it, with a focus on the natural beauty of the location. While others may see the Tubs as a sort of water park for swimming, gathering, and socializing, I see it as an amazingly scenic and peaceful location with excellent photographic opportunities, a small paradise of tranquility. I hope you enjoy the film and please respect these beautiful places.

MASTERPIECE only nature could create. We as humans can not make such beauty. We have the ability to preserve such places. Lets do that. Great video! ROCK ON!!!

This film was fabulous. The Seven Tubs looks amazing and you really showed it off by the way you filmed it. I also loved the tag on the end. We do live in an amazing country. Thanks for all your hard work sharing these amazing hidden places that I would have never heard of except for your films.

You captured the beauty of the place so well! Pinchot was a very interesting person, learned a lot about him at Grey Towers in Milford, PA. He dedicated his life to forest preservation, very same forests that his family destroyed by heavy lumbering.

Just finished this video after starting it a few days ago. I'm glad I watched all the way to the end. I appreciate your observations of 9/11, and how blessed we are to be in this country! So many have it so far worse than we do!

Beautifully done in every aspect. Thank you for sharing a place I never heard of. I grew up and live in south central PA along North Mountain. My brother, friends and I used to hike along a deep gorge with stream along an area called Nancy's Saddle to the top of the second mountain top.....hike a couple miles to Devil's Half Acre in the Edenville Gap. It was an awesome mass of boulders.....some the size of cars and the view across the Cumberland Valley to South Mountain was amazing. So many beautiful places to see in this state that get a person "up close and personal" with God's creation. Thanks

Spring is my favorite time to hike. I love be able to see all the trees and flowers start to wake up from their winter sleep. To see all the tiny buds really encourages me to slow down and appreciate nature. The autumn colors are beautiful. And on a winters day to see the tiny icicles.
