Funny story When some of the soldiers did show up to dismantled the statue of Zeus to return it to Rome one of them tapped it with a wooden mallet and all the rats that had built a nest inside began to scamper and screech and it sounded as if the statue cackled and laughed at them so he got scared and ran away and then emperor died. You got to understand we're talking probably a 1000 rats that it built a nest inside the statue and only came out at night and hid inside of it during the day. Quite the metaphor for religion as a whole shiny and beautiful and grand on the outside and full of rats on the inside.

That's nothing compared to what Ancient Sumerians/Babylonians has invented. They invented a working fountain ⛲. And that is what we use now, but they are made possible with engines. They also invented the Time/Calender which is also what we use everyday in our daily life. Not to mention, they also invented the writing system called "Cuneiform". Oh, and also, they invented Maths and Geometry. Last, but not least, they invented the first laws. They were technically more advance than the Egyptians.

@@ohshoot6082 The ancient Mayans may have had enough engineering know-how to master running water, creating fountains and even toilets by controlling water pressure, scientists now suggest. Tenochtitlan, the capital city of the Aztecs had one main aqueduct that ran twenty miles. It flowed in two channels, one being cleaned and maintained, and one to keep a constant flow of water. It flowed into public fountains where it was then delivered in clay pots to the workers and civilians. The Mayan calendar was extremely accurate, and the calculations of Maya priests were so precise that their calendar correction is 10,000th of a day more exact than the standard calendar the world uses today(Gregorian calendar), of all the ancient calendar systems, the Maya and other Mesoamerican systems are the most complex and intricate. Scholars now recognize that writing may have independently developed in at least four ancient civilizations: Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, and lowland areas of Mesoamerica. More than a millennium before it was introduced into Europe as part of the Hindu-Arabic number system the Maya were using a zero as a placeholder in their calendar system. The Maya (and the earlier cultures from which they inherited their number and calendar systems) were using a zero in this way long before it came into use in European mathematics, and probably even before its use in South-East Asia. Mayan mathematics were more advanced than the Greeks and 15th century Europeans when it came to mathematics.

The Great Pyramid of Kheops took 20 years to build, not 200 years. Salah ad-Din lived in the 12 century, so his son couldn't try to destroy the pyramids in the 10th century. All in all, it was a great video and I learned a lot from it.

Our building today are built more in terms of quality and effectiveness then for beauty. While many ancient civilisations would look down our society culture and freedom(remember there are from time when slavery, racism, sexist and much more was deem righteous) I have no doubt that would find our technology and it’s advancements as mind bending wonders. But then again it is human nature to romanticise the past.

Oh my god people Mesopotamians, Mayans, Aztecs, plus hundreds of Asian and South American ancient civilizations that are hardly mentioned.
