The Seven Years' War: The Battle of Lutterberg, 1758

The Battle of Lutterberg unfolded on 10 October 1758 amidst the Seven Years' War. In this clash, a formidable French force of 42,000, led by Charles, Prince of Soubise, confronted a smaller Anglo-German army commanded by General Christoph Ludwig von Oberg. After a chase through the hills and meadows, the armies clashed nearby the village of Lutterberg.

At first I didn't understand why Oberg positioned so many troops to his left flank. But quickly understood when I saw the enemy's deployment. Maybe this should be called the battle of the flank. lol

Most times unless I know the battle I'm unsure who will win this was always going to be a French victory, I just felt it from the beginning the Hanoverians were too outnumbered.
