Unfortunately, humans are very easy to be swayed by the charisma of someone, never let sweet sounding words blind you from a monster.

Fascinating. Even today with all our recording technology, we should be recording more old folk before they pass away. I had so many relatives that died and I regret not recording them.

Between the battle and operational losses from this attack and other operational losses from searched, by the time Shokaku and Zuikaku engaged Lexington and Yorktown, their air groups had already lost a good number of aircraft and aircrew. This plus the losses from the "main" battle meant that Sho's and Zui's air groups headed for home significantly depleted. Besides turning aside the assault on Port Moresby, the Battle of the Coral Sea also reduced Kido Butai's carrier complement at Midway.

@7:15 - "Neosho, commanded by Captain John S. Phillips ..." I wonder if he is an ancestor of Capt. Richard Phillips of the infamous Maersk Alabama hijacking.

My Father was aboard the Lexington at the Coral Sea. When the destroyer that fished him out of the water got back to pearl. He was debriefed and then placed on board the Enterprise for the Midway action. He served on many ships going into harms way. As a observer of how well the officers and crew did. Reporting directly to William Halsey. And was aboard the Missouri the day of Japans formal surrender. And retired two days later. Reenlisting the day Korea and spent most of the 60s stationed at Pearl. After the family lived in Cubs during the bay of pigs and missile crises. I was the Pearls newspaper boy. The admiral asked dad if he wanted his Vietnam ribbons. And gave dad permission to take me with him to Saigon. We went straight from the plane to the officers club and dad had a few beers. And I had a couple Shirley temples. He was transferred to the pentagon and I enlisted in the Navy the day I turned18. And spent six months in Nam before a rocket found the top of my head.

Wow! It's so creepy and surreal hearing him speak in a regular conversation. It's like hearing the devil's voice. It sickens me to think about his atrocities. Never forget the horrific tragedy that was the Holocaust. 🕊

Japanese battleships and battle cruisers never once sunk an enemy ship, while the French managed one light cruiser in WW1. Italy and all smaller navies sunk nothing. Only UK,US and Germany did sink multiple enemy vessels albeit dreadnoughts proved to be waste of resources.

We lost the battle of Nicapolis because of the French. They were arrogant, they wanted to know everything better than those who already knew the Turkish way of fighting. Of course, on their first attack, the Janissaries slaughtered them all. That was the end of the battle.

I ask, you take notes, about Treasurer Island Navl Station Activity. (I served there, a couple years, as the Marine Barracks Armoror... Worth telling... Transients... Medical... Rehab... Intell... Bay Security.... Note, news... Memorial Day, '76... I hate what is happening, to - the history - of that Base. It gets mentioned, in movies. In Harms Way Alcatraz Riot Hulk Even, Charley Chan... An incredible view of the City - at night. ... "Lights"- Journey Many WestPac personnel passed through there. ... Put word out... Ask Fans... Should get very interesting. Thanks Semper Iratus Fidelis...

It never ceases to amaze me that the vast resources and technology time and money that is required to construct implements of mass murder has been normalized. It becomes even more insane, as all wars are for the finite resources of the planet, which are chewed up, constructing enormous inventories of weapons of mass murder, as oil production is in a permanent 9% decline, as we have used over half the world's retrievable reserves. Why this obsession with WW2? Which tank was the best, which fighter plane was the bestsest? Make videos on the wars in the Middle East today. Iraq, Syria, lebanon, Yemen and Afghanistan have been obliterated from the face of the earth, Two million dead, 10 millions of displaced. Todays tanks and fighters leave those of WW2 for dead, and anyone that comes within 10 miles of them! Westerners live in a state of delusional psychosis and denial
