Rainsports are a boss tyre, especially in the UK which is often blessed with wet driving conditions. Really make a huge difference in the wet, I love them. Most tyres I've had driving ontop of a few mm of water and traction light is flashing, killing the power and aquaplaning but the Rainsports cut right through it to the tarmac, making driving in bad conditions a lot easier

I have always sworn by Rainsports, i used to run the Rainsports 3s when they were a thing and then moved to Rainsport 5s when they came out. As i got older, i could expand my budget for tyres and have since tried all the various top Tyres, Goodyear Eagle F1s, Continental Premium Contacts, Bridgestone Potenza Sports and of course Michelin Pilotsport 4S. Always ended up coming back to the Rainsports for their predictability in the Great British weather.

I've got Rainsport 5's on my 70 plate tdi quattro a4 avant and I have to say I'm well impressed with them. In all conditions from hot and dry to snow and mud they just do the job and grip, they don't over heat and drop off when it's really hot and it's driven through mental snow and pulled other cars out of the muddy field at The Motorist up here in't norf. Honestly I can't say anything bad about them, they just work.

My brother had a Mk2 TT with the same engine as this and Quattro 4WD. It had approx 170,000 miles and minimal rust. The oil pressure light came on, followed by knocking from the big end. Still started and ran but with the knocking it had already been ran for about 15 minutes. He sold it for scrap at £200...told him even with the knock etc probably still worth about £600+ in parts alone.

Doubling the HP will make an ideal street machine. I’m running 428hp 543Nm 0-60 3.78 quarter mile 12.1 seconds. Not bad for a city sleeper. & cheaper than a stock RS3.

Turbo'd a 205 cti many moons ago, total cost inc car £1600. twas a whippet!. 13.1 @ santa. kinda slow by todays standards but used the cti gearbox so it maxd 2/3rds up the track. no wheelspin and ripped through the gears. best thing? the look on others faces :D. have fun with this, ima watchin :)
