I read this book in jail. I randomly picked it up and it changed my life. I had a very hard heart towards God at the time calloused by drug use and the recent loss of my grandpa, who I was very close with. The book softened my heart towards God, and I became a Christian just a few months later after a near-fatal overdose. God will never leave you or forsake you, just turn to Him - let Him love you and heal you.

Well said Jeff :) i`m 60 this year and whilst i`ve been an emotional wreck anyway over the last few years, this movie reduced me to cry like a five year old. Subject matter aside and tough to watch in that respect, it was one of the most beautiful, soulful films i`ve ever watched and like alot of the comments, i learned alot from it! I think every person on the planet should watch this movie and perhaps we could all start loving each, rather than trying to rip each others heads off :) All the best Jeff and thank you Netflix.

I just watched this movie last night and I had no idea what I was in for. I am not a "deeply" religious person but I do believe in God and consider myself a Christian. After this movie ended I prayed to God and cried the entire time I was praying. We have no right to judge anyone as our minds cant comprehend the gravity of what every single decision we make means no matter how big or small. If you watch this and dont find yourself closer to God then i weep for you. Be a force for good in this world and you will be rewarded more than you could imagine. This is a must watch but be prepared and bring a few tissues with you when you sit down.

You Atheists need to stop commenting on a CHRISTIAN movie trailer. We get it, you don't believe in God. It doesn't mean you need to shove it in our faces. Most atheists complain about us pushing our faith in their faces when they are do the exact same to us. Why can't we all just respect each others religion instead of causing violence and hate over it??... As for the actual video, this movie brought tears to me eyes. And I rarely cry with movies. And not just because of the tragedy. Also because of how beautifully well-put together it was. Awesome movie!!

You actually do have a point. I never considered that. That is true. Atheists get hormonal and faint when anyone uses the word God, but then they want you to stop talking about it because they don’t like it. Not all Atheists of course. And not all Christians. There are good, the bad, and the annoying in all groups.

I think what he is referring to (if you've ever read the book) is that most struggle with the whole "God is good" thing and as much as they want to believe it, the way we see life becomes a hinderance. It changes the way he sees God, not through what the Bible says, but looking inside himself and focusing on why God is good. Have you read the book?

This movie fn sucks, big time...real big time..!!!!!. It tends to favor pedophile child rapists and murderers with a load of biblical christian fantasy BULLSHIT rhetoric.... And what about the crap tale about the girl who threw herself off the cliff to save her tribe. What the f has that got to do with this little girl being raped and murdered by a psycho pedophile rapist. To me this story is SHOCKING and HEARTBREAKING because of that fact. Don't lose sight of these facts when you watch this movie, and don't forget the fact that this little girls father, himself, was a murderer ....remember he poisoned his own drunken abusive rapist father when he was a boy.

May God (Allah) guide everyone astray. Whoever searches the books knows very well that the Trinity, divinity, and humanity are not present in them, and there is no mention of them or of Christ’s confession that he is God, God forbid. They are all interpretations of priests, as if God needs explanations for the basis of his divinity. In all religions there are differences, but the origin is clear with regard to God, except for Christianity. God. There are throughout history conflicts over his divinity and identity. Christ himself was calling on God and asking Him like any human being. God guided everyone to His unity and satisfaction Whoever searches for answers to doubts about Islam will find them, but most people want what their priests allow

I already told my parents that I forgive them. But it doesn't mean they will treat me perfectly in the future. Forgiveness is a constant thing. Especially to Greta Thunberg. She must have to forgive us lots. Unless she is a confused little girl flood of Noah Gods climate change. So then God should mature if this is the case and tell everyone the truth. What I believe, if you are wondering, is that this is a giant temple called earth, and like our own lungs, God is letting us do whatever to them and natural physics takes place as scientists confirm. BUT, I know there are manipulations to these matrixes within this matrix. Otherwise we would not be here today to share with Elon Musk. Shalom BLD Lightpainting. You type : "He (God, His Son, and Spirit) only wish to daily walk with you out of a personal friendship". So would you tell your brothers and sisters He wants us, ..... yes, needs us to stop sinning? And when we sin that we need to repent. Would you tell your brothers and sisters He asks for holiness (separateness from the world)? Would you tell your brothers and sisters that besides their friend He is their King, and they are His subjects? Would you tell people in general that the only way to the Father is through His Son? I simply ask this because i love people but God even more so. Ha Shem doesn't need me asking you this, but He lets His people know they have the responsibility to do so.

the Lord is not there, he's in everyone of us, there were never actual "GODS", just alien species who visited our planet many times over and help us evolve and start civillizations , there was never one dude in the clouds magically creating the earth, no, we're just one species amongst so many more in the universe, any technology advanced enough would have seemed like magicto us back in the old days, so yeah, im proud to be an atheist, although i beleive in buddah, as he was a tacher, not a god, gods dont exist, only we do!, the holy christian church is farce invented to subdue and control the masses, amen

@cosmiq-空 God isn't the one who causes bad things to happen. When people say "the Lord works in mysterious ways," it means that he provides lessons to us in manners that we probably wouldn't suspect at first glance. He has a plan and that plan can never be destroyed. The reason as to why all of these tragedies and traumatic events exist is because we are living in a fractured creation. We have free will, which God gave to us so we could willingly make the choice to either follow him or the world. So, he's not the one at fault for this fallen world. It's our fault that it's destroyed. God steps in and takes advantage of the storms that we experience, using them to make us stronger and to provide us with lessons. That's the true meaning behind "the Lord works in mysterious ways." Sometimes, you'll experience tests. Sometimes, you'll fall and learn a lesson. And other times, you'll pick up on the lesson rather quickly instead of stumbling beforehand. In the end, the teacher is always quiet during the test ... and God really is magnificent.

cosmiq-空 the lord doesnt cause bad things to happen to people people do. Death is something you cannot stop its apart of life and thats the one thing the bible CLEARLY states we are born and we shall pass. Cancer is man made cancer is caused by people many diseases were caused by people many were made simply off of the biology of life. And PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE god does nothing to cause us pain god cannot control evil he can only make us aware that evil exists. The person who sexually abused you is NOT of god he is evil and trust he will pay his due god punishes not by inflicting pain but by karma. simply what goes around comes around no he may not be sexually assaulted like you were but there are many ways karma can destory a person and their lives and if you leave it up to god he will pay the price for what hes done to you. You may not see it happening in front of you but just know it will happen. When you think god think love god is love im spreading my love to you now god is speaking to you through somebody. The person that hurt you DID NOT get away with the pain he caused you he will pay the price. You dont have to believe in god but believe in life the goodness there is in life and stay strong.

I remember being at one of my lowest points in life about 10 years ago. I had grown up in abusive foster/adoptive homes, and my little sister was kidnapped when I was 8. My entire childhood I blamed myself for not protecting her after I had promised my birth mum I would always be there for her. I was adopted by a pastoral family a few years later and one day my youth pastor took me aside and gave me The Shack to read, not promising anything, just hoping I wasn't going to make a bad choice with my life. I couldn't put it down that night. I read through it and poured myself into the pages. The next morning I remember my parents asking me what had happened, what was this change they had seen over night. Now my dad is a traditional pastor; he's got no time for fantasies, just his work with God. I passed him the book and challenged him to read it. He went out a few days later and but over 100 copies to take with him on his missions trips. This is who I had always seen God as, and I saw my family completely change their views on faith because of a great author's insight to Grace. I still read the chapter "Bring on the Judge" as part of my devotions

What we have to understand is everything will be OK in the end no matter what happens as long as you know that God is with you always. Faith and Love are the answers ....

(That’s when I knew the HOLY SPIRIT was directing me) Critics will say it’s from Satan and all this technical stuff (that is a trick of the enemy) this movie is life changing and gives you a deeper look into GODS LOVE , and even answers questions of the human heart , it JUST hit Netflix and I believe GOD IS SENDING HELP for this season we are in , as believers 🙏🏾🙌🏾

You summed it up perfectly. The Holy Spirit pointed me to it this week. Just watched it last night. God comes to us exactly where we are as He is needed to. Religion can't get beyond it's agenda, Truth does.

Loved the book and loved the movie. I highly recommend. I am not bound by Political, Religious and Economic institutions and those that are are gonna find fault in this movie like they do in everything and hate their neighbor yet claim to love God. Everyone is free to watch this , don't let your pastor or a Christian sinner tell you what to see or read.

This movie is a wave of emotions. I watched it on my way back home from a retreat and there was not enough time to finish it. Glad I found it two years later

Naoimi Williams I didn't find the book sad...it's about growing closer to God and finding your faith again, which he lost when he lost his daughter. it's a beautifully written book.

Not if you read the Christian reviews on goodreads! They don't like God portrayed as an actual person apparently

they care more about what God looks like that the true message, which is the point of the book - every christian on earth should be begging everyone to read it

get a life!!!!

I've been waiting a long time to see this movie. I have read and listened to the book on audiobook so many times. I have imagined everything in my mind and now I will see on the big screen. I have watched the trailer several times and I've cried every time I watched it. I know when I go see the movie I better take a box of tissues. I'm so excited. Thank you Wm Paul Young for writing the book and for the others who made the movie and are starring in the movie, THANK YOU! I am more than excited!!!

Just finished this movie last night. This movie made my ass cry hard as fuck! I’ve just recently surrendered to the lord and I’ve been going through tough trials. Watching this movie really hit me. Especially with the trial i am currently facing. It has me in the same spot that Mac is in the movie. The lowest of the low. Feels harder then rock bottom. Feels like it’s never ending. But this movie makes you realize you can’t be the judge of everything in your life. Can’t rely only your own understandings but to trust in God fully with everything in your life. So much I can say about this amazing movie. You need to watch this if you haven’t already. This movie made me cry hard. You will cry.

Very true. Everything you said. Crying is what helps us heal. It makes you feel better in a very different way. I, too, cried, and no way can anyone watch this and not cry.

Whenever I'm going through hardships such as being a victim of identity theft, i think of this movie and the old testament book of Job. Because I'm in a identity theft crisis and I'm try my best to get it settled and resolved. And hopefully once it's settled and resolved, i won't go through this mess again in the future. God please, give me the answers and solution on how to get this mess settled and resolved permanently. Amen.

Best Christain movie ever made. The trailer does this movie absolutely no justice. This movie is incredible. They filmed it in a fantasy kind of way that is accurate to scripture. Can't say enough good things

I originally watched this one as I'm a massive Tim McGraw fan and wanted to see him in this. It turned into one of the hardest movies to watch. I've watched it plenty of times over the last few years... Never been able to keep a dry eye yet. A powerful film
