What amazes me...northern union companies had their unions busted in the 80s. The jobs moved south to cheaper labor anyway, then they lowered the wages even more, than they moved the jobs to Mexico, and finally they moved them to China. We need to make goods sold in America be manufactured in America. And always remember....workers that are treated well, paid well and have good benefits never seek put a union. If a group of workers want to unionize, there is a reason and it shouldn't be fought.

They can do that because Democrats have used nonstop immigration since 1967, high taxes, and over regulation to put slack into the labor market year after year. Which gives all the power to employers, driving down wages, and immigration drives up housing prices at the same time. To the point that tens of millions of Americans don't have any money left over at the end of the month. It's the low wages and lack of power at the bottom that allows the excesses at the top. Causing the wealth gap. Compare that to JFK style conservative policies of using low taxes, smaller government, deregulation, and less immigration to tighten up the labor market. Which gives power back to workers. Raises wages. Allows for advancement. Allows for mobility. Allows people with bad job records or few skills to get jobs. And gives people dignity. If Democrats actually cared about lower income people and were capable of compassion and empathy, they would be Kennedy/Reagan conservatives. "The ever expanding power of the federal government, the absorption of many of the functions that states and cities once considered to be responsibilities of their own, must now be a source of concern to all those who believe as did the great patriot, Henry Grattan that: “Control over local affairs is the essence of liberty.” Commencement Address, University of Notre Dame, January 29, 1950.....John F.Kennedy

Yeah I guess if you want all the profit from corporations to go to the wealthy shareholders and the corporate elite, then unions are not for you. But if you are a worker who wants a living wage, good benefits, and worker protection, then you want a union. Believe me, it has been a total blessing to our family. Disgusting how a small group of people can play with the livelihood of so many people. They won’t be happy until they lower the minimum wage and raise taxes on ordinary people!🤮

I get your points, but you should also look critically at how big international unions operate and make sure you believe they are really working in the workers’ best interest. Unions are big business too..

Unfortunately, those workers in Al at the Mercedes plant believed the lies told to them by the BCA & voted against unionizing. The marketing campaign against forming a union was apparently all over the Mercedes plant. This is why propaganda is so effective. Citizens will vote against their own interests without realizing the long term effects.

I would love to see coverage of the hospitality industry in New Orleans. Without tourism, New Orleans suffers. Those of us who were here during and post COVID lockdowns know this too well. Yet the people who work these jobs struggle to pay rent in substandard housing conditions and little to no recourse when faced with the all too common slumlord. Most of this demographic is paid just $2.13 per hour, and are forced to rely on tips to pay their bills which include the infamous Sewage and Water Board who commonly hit citizens with $400-$1000 monthly water bills! Entergy, the private electricity company & sole provider, does the same while trying to make users pay for their bad infrastructure that leaves the city dark for days or weeks after hurricane damage.

After 43 years 1980-2023 of Reaganomics Republican and moderate democrats failed tax break giveaways to the richest 1% and corporate America over 31 tillion dollars plus two corporate America taxpayer baiouts. Federal minimum wage over this same 43 years 1980-2023 time period only 7.25hr ! What do American Blue-collar middle class workers and the working class poor have to lose ? 🤔

I don't have conclusive proof but another thing ive noticed our fast food companies doing is instead of giving the food assistance they advertised, they give you free food more than they are supposed to. Is this to their benefit? Is it a tactic to try to pacify workers while simultaneously having leverage to fire workers if they decide to organize? I don't mind the occasional food but its less than ideal because the food is very unhealthy.

We need to FIGHT for work-optional lifestyle. Not everyone has the physical, emotional, or mental capacity to do work. We need universal basic income equal to the average annual salary. We can pay for this by taxing companies like ALABAMA POWER 90% of all revenues!

The problem is the same one facing all of us at election time: lies, lies and more lies, exaggerated claims, personal attacks, and personal threats by neighbors, fellow church members, bosses, etc. It's not just a matter of voting in a union: it's facing a life-changing, friend-losing social ostracism if you do. Tough choices, and they lost.

I was in a sheet metal's worker union. I had a very bad experience. The union kept asking for more and more even though we were well paid and had great benefits. They kept on until the company just packed up and moved to Mexico. Then I worked for the teamsters for a trucking company and it was the most toxic environment I've ever worked in. So unions don't fix everything.
