If you haven't already, go listen to Part 1/2 before this one, or else you may get lost. Admittedly, this talk is a bit highfalutin and labyrinthine, but if it's actually of interest to you, it should be clear enough.

Wow, Dan. I’m 6 years late on this one but, having listened to most of your KZbin lectures, this one really stands out to me. Your deconstruction of Hammer’s deconstructionism is brilliant.

I like what you said about the monks and the rest of the christian practicioners- Sure! The dispositions that we:::: seem!?! to be born with.... kind of set the stage for understanding ourselves and others; and how someone like a monk who is drawn to esoteric mediums, and their view of it, vs. the majority throughout time ....maybe it's like, 85 % humans are into the outer , 3d world experience. And the 15 per cent OR LESS of the given population....feels and experiences so differently. / I felt this way my enitre life...and i was raised roman catholic, and lived next to a church with grounds and the priests would walk with me and they knew ! :D instantly~ that i was like a mystic or a monk...and not only that, but incurable intellectual. /// So when we hermetic/esoteric people try to clarify a perception thru time of the others, and we try to develop a method and culture which gets to the truest thing that we can, we need to keep in mind that this will be only understood by others with this minority dimension in themselves. So if the academy wants to write and research a history for "all"....well i think that this is a great approach because it does meticuously analyze the sources......And yes i think lately there has been the "Archeological Turn" to history....so that's cool. /// But really it's monks studying for monks....hey hey. I mean... am i wrong? The GULF between the understanding or lack of it.... between someone who is oriented in this hermetic place of being vs. someone who is oriented toward the 3d world..... let's atl;east address the elepehant in the room; BY WHo For WHom..... the audience . I'm not in academics as in, being in a university- there's actually a lot of people like me, though....i knew that before because of the people who i used to encounter in really cool coffe houses..... ;) //those are all erased now due to gentrification; but! now we have these youtube channels .....and then access to some current journals online which are free...and then this is a way to keep current on which books are being published and the podcasts are now the central locus...bc no more coffe house. /// I am reading thru a book on the history of The Jesuits- and ...heh. omg. Yes it is extremely esoteric and occult and..... this idea by Hanegraaff on how to enter into such a wilderness of a history ...i like it very much. That's why we need philosophy to stay living. BUt yeah just reading this book on this Catholic order FEELS like reading an esoteric text! wow. ////And yes i love McKenna and i do realize that Yates and also Eliade were adored by him...but that they have been pretty much put to the side now. However~ I still enjoy reading Eliade :) /Read Widely, Friends.....!! do not be afraid or daunted. Like Vatican 2....oh we dont mess with that spooky stuff anymore. // Did you know that Ignatius was seen as a mystic?? And painted as riding a cloud, which was said to be The Holy Spirit....and basically he was getting into Process Theology. heheh. Sayin stuff about theTrinity....its just amzing to read for me...it's fun. Its kind of outrageous and awesome. And ....yeah that's the point of why we are reading all of this... The Jesuits were also the most intellectual of the orders...more or less. Always getting into trouble...

Can you think of "Rejected Knowledge" around during the same periods that wasn't/isn't esoteric? Can you also think of an unloaded word? I didn't find the Higgs Boson, did you?

Around 4:50 you mentioned materialism and the softening of it with the psychedelic revolution. Do you have any videos that can translate what alternatives to materialism are? I find this stuff really interesting, but can't fathom not being firmly situated in "academic materialism"

Physicalism falsified materialism & should really have replaced it, although some agent provocateur's still conflate the two, others are anti-physicalism, idealism, dualism, neutral monism, holism, but it's more complicated than that, as there are different types of materialism & physicalism, I for instance think in terms of three types of the latter, absolute, scientific & eliminative.

he's also completely wrong. you don't just start a business or a project and just whack things together. you don't just create a story about how you did it after you're done. you need a business plan, strategies, a timeline that you have to stick to. Hammer may have points worth noting. But from his analogy, i sense that his argument is full of bull.
