Fun fact - The popular and well-known Oblivion quest "Shadow over Hackdirt" and its related settlement are based off of this story.

There has to be someone at Bethesda who is really into Lovecraft. Not just the Oblivion quest but also things like Dunwich or Kingsport in Fallout.

Based off of? You mean ripped off from.
@derp195 Жыл бұрын
@@ImperialCaleb No, there are homages all over Bethesda games. They aren't ripoffs, they're intentional and obvious references. Like The Dunwich Borers being based on/a reference to The Dunwich Horror.
@ImperialCaleb Жыл бұрын
@@derp195 Homage? It's practically the same story happening to the player as what happens in the book, just a mega-simplified version lacking any and all depth and purpose. It's "The Shadow Over Innsmouth" for the mentally slow. Sure, it's just a side quest, but it's still worthy of criticism.

That's what a reference/homage is, you mentally defective mongrel. Fallout and Elder Scrolls have been filled with Lovecraft references since day one. It's not even just Bethesda. If people had to search for it, it would be an easter egg instead. But it's meant to be a fun little tongue-in-cheek thing for fans, and it works as that.

That ending did a complete 180 lol. Have you thought of using different voices for future audiobooks?
@Alaylex Жыл бұрын
I have! I did Carmilla in Serana's voice, Conan the Barbarian in Jarl Balgruuf's, and The New Testament in Joshua Grahams voice. I also plan on adding more as time goes

H.P. Lovecraft, a racist? No way, he definitely didn't name his cat anything that would make us think otherwise.

Race? My brother in Christ, it’s merely about the ecological damage caused by overfishing. 🤫
