Karen, I am a white gay male with a husband. I acknowledge my white privilege but also resonate with all minorities in this society of ours. I was discharged under dont ask dont tell in the USAF simply for being gay. I have tried to devote my adult life to help those less fortunate than me. This is not a condescending statement. This is an acknowledgment that I can never know how they feel but I can empathize and help in every way possible. Thank you for your channel. I love your open minded technique of processing these topics with this community (tribe) of mostly like minded individuals. If anything I just said offends anyone, this is not my intent. My intent is to hold a sacred space for all who need and want to be heard. This is the mature grown up spiritual perspective of which I am 100% in support of. Light and love to all throughout the universe. Peace.

My heart hurts so much for marginalized people. When I was young we had a thing where adults who were helpers could put a ‘helping hand’ in their windows. I really wish we could do something like that now to show people we are a safe place.

I am a walking example of white privilege. I grew up dirt poor, had two babies by the time I graduated high school, and 33 years later, I hold a PhD and make six figures. I worked like a dog for years to get here, but had I been in the same exact situation with black or brown skin in the community where I grew up, odds are I wouldn't have had the same treatment (think welfare system, jobs, etc., in a racist community) and opportunities as I had with white skin. I know white privilege well. Thank you for talking about it so openly.

I can relate to DM, I earned a Master's degree later in life and have always had trouble working with white people even though I am white. For the last 7 years I have worked with minorities and I am the white minority. I am a mobile behavior health worker and come in contact with minority workers through my work. I have found them to be hard working family people and grateful to earn a living. I am really sick of this white privilege crap

@@askthespiritguides such an important conversation. I am a white woman who grew up very privileged. My mom always told us that we need to give back. She always talked about how we are all Gods children and our world is not fair. She said it is our job to help change the world for the better . Be the change that you want to see in the world. Being labeled as and called a "minority " is a pejorative for many of us. The connotation is "LESS THAN"....not talking about numbers, but rather relating to our personhood/ our Humanity.

Now seems to be the most difficult time but i also see that the world is changing for the better due to these challenges we're in now. I'm a white male that's mostly straight (i act straight for sure). There's lots of times I feel ashamed to be a white male. People tell me not to be ashamed as long as I'm one of the good ones. Growing up, we were poor. We grew up on government food, cheese, peanut butter, canned veggies, etc. Karen is 100% right about white privilege. EVERY single other group of people have had to fight to get rights. Women, native Americans, black people, gay people, lgbtqia++. I have a few black women friends and it's like they have 2 marks against them. I can't speak on black men as much. Women don't get as good Healthcare as white men do, for black women it's even worse! Our government literally medically tested unethically on black people. I attribute my eyes being opened up because I went from a town of 5k in Iowa with 1 black person to traveling around with my step dad being a civilian on military bases. I spent 5 years on Okinawa when I was 11-16 years old, I was exposed to other religions, races, ethnicities for the first time. I spent the last 2.5 years of High school in middle Georgia, USA. I kinda felt like the minority there. I could go on and on. Everyone have a great day and please make sure our eyes and ears are open. Listening and watching. When we try to protect institutions by disregarding their shadow side (not teaching school children about slavery is a prime example!), we serve no one and nothing. We will ONLY grow when we confront our shadow. Jung would be the first to tell us this.

Thank you for posting this. 🙏 I’m an adult convert, and now I’m very, very conscious of the shadow side(s) of the church, of the institutional hypocrisy, and why people raised Catholic are leaving/have left the church in droves. Many of the American bishops (IMO) are trying to ignore the shadow of the church, and go on as if the same old ways will continue to work. They don’t want to take delivery on the fact that they won’t. I’ve thought about this a lot, and am avoiding writing a book here! 😉 Pope Francis’ Synod on Synodality is a try at addressing these shadow issues, IMO. I’ll step off my soap box now…

I'm in Oregon, and just looked up the state law about getting a driver's license if you're undocumented. The law was passed in 2019 allowing undocumented people to get driver's licenses. I couldn't find anything (in a very quick search) about getting license plates if you're undocumented. I would assume there are far fewer restrictions on getting a license plate than there are on getting a driver's license. And yeah, I work at a Southern Oregon community college, and have been hearing from the ESL classes that there are students who are pretty terrified of what's to come next. I've been talking with a local immigration attorney, who wants to do a presentation for students to answer their questions. (He himself could actually be deported; he has a Spanish-sounding name.) He's friends with the local ICE staff, and they're all saying that the only people in danger of being deported are those with active felony cases who have already received notifications from government officials saying that they need to leave the country or face deportation. There is no fear for people going to church or school, that ICE will come in and sweep the room and haul out people en masse; that's just not going to happen. I hope he's right.

3:38 Back in the 90's, for some reason I got into conversation with a guy beside me on the train, and I ended up saying that "every single person on this train will end up convinced that they are doing the right thing by informing on others" and the absolute silence in the whole carriage was hostile and deafening, no one even rustled their newspaper. Apparently everyone had been listening to me. Then I pointed out the Neighbourhood Watch signs; and I said "there is my proof. It won't be blindingly apparent, we'll think we are doing the right thing, and societal pressure to 'inform' will become normal". Then I asked him, "how many profiles are on that sign?" and he said "Three". I said "No, there are four. You've been deceived already". The entire carriage glared at me lol. Neighbourhood Watch was and is a program where everyone is encouraged to report "suspicious activity" to police via a dedicated phone number. All for a good reason, right?? P.S. these days, it is called "grooming". Manipulating the communal mindset to believe a certain narrative.

Wanting to help and be part of the solution is a good thing, and talking about this is a very good thing. The bracelet thing was a two edged sword. Many Black and Brown people liked that idea but many also did not. The biggest reason for that backlash from the many is because it’s like the “little here and little there” things that are done and then they peeter out. ALSO…the biggest reason is that someone can choose to wear a bracelet or not, they can take it off if “the wearer” doesn’t feel safe…but Black and Brown people cannot “choose” to change the color of their skin…they can’t take it off. Does that make sense? This is such a convoluted subject. The best way is to “talk about it,” to ask questions and to LISTEN to those marginalized to better understand. Thank you, Karen, for “hearing” those comments, that is definitely a step in the best direction. And you are correct, it does take a village! Another option could also be having a guest that you can ask questions and share that with your community, etc. A guest that can answer the questions, to the best of their abilities, based on their experiences. I.E., I’m a Latina, LGBTQ, Veteran who has had her entire career path in male-dominated fields. I can talk about those things and I can continue to listen to how others feel based on their ethnicity, background, etc. I hope I was able to explain it, the best I personally can, to help others “empathize” with why some feel the way they do.

Karen, I had the most epic vibrational adjustment last night! It was so epic that my hubby felt it too! It honestly felt like an earthquake but only from the knees down. I live in VA. 😐 I was cooking and nearly lost my balance! Then I was asleep immediately after dinner for 12 hours, so now I’m pretty sure it was an adjustment. So, for all of us in the channel (I usually get an early heads up) if something REALLY weird happens to you in the next week, just know you’re being tuned to a new frequency and don’t nearly freak out as I nearly did. I’m a Medium so I’ve been going thru these all my life and this was not like anything that’d happened before. If it doesn’t happen to you, don’t feel left out! You’re already exactly where your vibration needs to be! 💜

My way of acknowledging my white privilege is noticing how I was okay in a certain situation because I'm white. Knowing if I was black or brown in the same situation, it might not have gone the same way. I usually point it out to my white husband. I have also started discussing the kinds of awareness that all women have that most men have never considered. He's a good man, and he's learning about other perspectives. Those who share their perspective are not obligated to do so, but if someone is willing to share their experiences that I am not familiar with, I appreciate their bravery and it's a chance for me to learn.

Good morning! I saw that post by Tabitha. So disturbing on so many levels. Good discussion. I’ve been digging deep into myself on white privilege and the hidden ways I may be part of the problem that I didn’t even see. Love this community of discussion and support. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Edited: I think it really was about high and low energy. What is high for one may be low for another and by knowing that, we do our best with our better judgment, knowing that we’re human.

Yes, this is echoing past dark and evil times in history. I’ve never understood why anyone is judged by looks, to begin with. It makes no sense, since there is so much more to a being than genes. I fear for lives now in my own country and quite frankly, I’m angry about it. And trying to find light in this horrific situation. I can’t even imagine how folks are feeling. Dana with the Somatic channel is who Karen referred to.

@ privilidge: I appreciate your deep level of empathy towards fellow humans who come from a different background a.k.a. less privileged, distant relatives. We all have so much more in common than different. Historically, politicians conveniently have used our differences on skin shades to keep us divided and afraid of each other. It's not your fault to have privilege, but it's our responsibility to be each other's keeper. So THANK YOU for always sharing your knowledge with us.

Well done yet again!!! If any group is allowed to assault someone else and is either not reprimanded, is cheered for doing so, or receives a reduced penalty is the height of privilege. Each of your listeners should think about they live their life in areas of privilege. About the Roman Catholic church: the area of assault that hasn't even begun to be addressed is abuse of girls by women. There are thousands upon thousands of stories about that which we haven't touched. It's literally criminal.

I agree to all that you've said about Privelege. And at the same time, please don't ever avoid being yourself so as NOT to trigger people. I hope you just keep exploring and being transparent. I hope we all do. I want to hold these juxtipositions gingerly and be compassionate with all the views and triggers that are shared. And at the same time I want to punch the haters in the throat. I will keep working on my own shadows and speaking up when I see injustice.

While listening to you this morning, it occurred to me that one of the bigger lessons in our Ascension process we learn is letting go of ATTACHMENTS… which comes in many forms, relationships, jobs, possessions, “ideas/positions on things”, people, religion, animals, loss of loved ones, etc.). This is where putting “Source/God First” comes into play. Period. When someone becomes defensive of someone else’s opinions or beliefs, they then are being judgemental and are not in alignment with Source. They would know this because they would not feel well when they were judging that person, and the person they were judging would not feel well either. 💕

Just wanted to point this separately that there are churches RIGHT NOW who are voting to be true Sanctuaries for any oppressed/hunted person who needs their help. I just watched one last month in Tulsa, OK who has voted to do whatever necessary, including jail time, to shelter those threatened under this regime (not a sentence I ever thought I’d utter about America). I’ve been searching my area for them and I have a list in an invisible file on my phone so I can tell those I run into if they need a safe place and I can’t help them (I’m not set up for caring for more than 2 at a time) where to go. I would then immediately give them & donate as much $ as I could to that church. I have my plan completely written out already that my hubby and I have agreed on. I humbly suggest that you do the same. Even if you can’t personally help someone being hunted, find the true Sanctuary churches in your area and have their names on hand. This could get truly awful and we as Lightworkers need to be prepared for the earthly as well as Spiritual needs. Then you can just wait for your help to be requested or offer it if/when the time comes. 💜

Good morning Karen and thank you for this video - Love the title!! And your mug fits better than you think! 😜 Our "happy place" can be finding where our shadow serves the greater good. I have been taught to do shadow work by asking "how does it serve" as all things work together for our good. It is more than just cleaning up our shadow, it is about integrating and accepting it into ourselves. Same whether for society or for individuals. For instance, anger can give us the energy to work for justice. Prejudice can help us understand empathy and compassion for others. Triggers help us understand the wounds that need to be healed. Corruption shows us what we really want instead. Acknowledging our privilege can help us understand what has been stolen from our fellow human beings or other living beings. Keep shining your Light and reminding us to seek the peace within! 💖

I have to put in my two cents in this. My granddaughter's father is of Mexican descent. My daughter is fair skinned, green eyed, strawberry blonde. My granddaughter completely takes after her father's side of the family in her appearance. My granddaughter split her time between the two families. By the time she was five years old she was asking why she was treated differently by people depending on which family she was with.

Great conversation! It brings up a paradox for me though, and that is, How do I keep my vibration high while realizing that even the ability to do that comes from the privilege of being white, in a blue state? I work in a high-school and overheard a teacher talking about her ESL (English as a Second Language) students breaking into tears over the fear of parents being deported! So much pain and it seems that politicians on the right want to inflict as much pain as possible. 😢 Anyway, my point is that even knowing this brings me down. Just like being exposed to local social media means I'm more aware of theft and neighbors being mean to each other. So hard to stay in the 4D and yet care about each other.😢

Each of us has had such different experiences with privilege or without it. I love my church family because the open mind/open heart/helping hand is what is preached and practiced in my Lutheran congregation. But I recognize the hypocrisy practiced in many churches. People are fallible and I believe we all have a "shadow" side just as societies and governments do. My spiritual awareness grows as I recognize and try to mitigate my own shadow.
