This is the greatest guitar band of all times. Apache is the greatest instrumental song of all times.

I love the Shadows.. I have been playing Apache in bands for 30 odd years, great song. I had the honor of meeting Hank Marvin in the mid 80’s.

Beautiful keyboard accompaniment from Cliff Hall on "Apache" given that "Strings" were not used on the recording in 1960

Sono stati gli idoli degli anni 60 ed erano solo in 4, mancava il tastierista che a quei tempi non era previsto nei gruppi alla Beatles
@joegongora22007 ай бұрын
This performance was done perhaps in the 70’s by judging the hairstyles. They were the original artists and songwriters of the song Apache. They were ahead of their time in their music 🎼 and the Beatles always gave credit to this group for also being an influence on their music. The only thing that happened was that the Beatles came to America and the Shadows didn’t. The Shadows tried many times since 1960 to come to America but, weren’t successful in doing so. I don’t know if the Shadowy knew Little Richard because Little Richard told Ed Sullivan about the Beatles. Perhaps in later years the Shadows might’ve come over to America but, I don’t have any knowledge of that. During the time of the British Invasion would’ve been a perfect time for them come and perform. Who knows who their managers were they could’ve negotiated with Ed Sullivan it just didn’t happen.

not songwriters of apache, it's a song written by Jerry Lordan

Jerry Lordan wrote quite a few to be fair. Wonderful Land, Atlantis & Diamonds if memory serves me correctl.

No not the 1970s. This was Oct 18, 1987 (as it says under the video). The band were the original performers of Apache and two of those on stage here (Bruce Welch and Hank Marvin) were on the original record 27 years earlier. The tune was written by Jerry Lordan, however, not them. The Shadows certainly did come to America and appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, before the Beatles did, in 1963 (here they are doing it, with Cliff Richard - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn26Zp-aoaiaibs). Maybe you are right, if they had delayed their visit until the British Invasion things might have been different, but the fact it they came when they were the top UK pop act (before the Beatles) and America didn’t take to them.

Hank's guitar sounds somewhat similar to 1989 At Liverpool. Is it the same equipment?

Is the same guitar and the same fingers
@blueshadow73854 ай бұрын
Same guitar, same amp and same echo. At the time he was using a 1958 Fender Stratocaster, bought in Paris in 1981. When this was recorded and also in 1989 the neck is not the original one but a Giffin neck (highly figured). It was later put on his black 1968 Strat. Today that guitar has the original neck again (that can be seen on the 1984 Together video). The amp he used here and on Together is a Mesa Boogie MK2 and a Roland RE-301 Chorus Echo. The pickups on this 1958 is not the original but custom made ones he got directly from Seymour Duncan.
@VladimirJelic-pm6rh7 күн бұрын
@@RoloHolocausto Yes, but echo units and amps make different sounds, if you look at 1984 live, 1989 live and Hank live 1995 there's a difference
