Great video Paul! I’m new to knife sharpening and have been watching as many of your videos as I can in my free time.

I also am relatively new to knife sharpening. I’ve been puttering with it for about 5 years using a fixed angle system. I recently stepped up to a TSPROF. I absolutely love it. I do this as a hobby. I’m retired. I’m not looking to start a business. But, I found your podcast very interesting. My next venture will be hair salon scissors. My barber has a bunch of scissors he can’t find anyone to sharpen. He merely buys a new pair when needed. What a waste of! He gave me a pair to practice on. Maybe i can get a free haircut out of it!

As far as training your competition, I just got in with one of the oldest groomers in the area (sharpening) and she said that she would be a great reference for me and said she's trained all the local groomers, meaning they all worked for her until they got good enough to leave and they left. She left her big building and transformed her garage into a small, one person salon to cut the overhead and to stop training the competition.

Also in a corny side note, i officially retired from Virginia Tech Police (early with less benefits) to move to Indiana with my wife, who makes better money. One of my tasks was providing armed security for the VT President, including home and away football games. In 2017 I escorted him to the FedEx Bowl, and we stayed on Alexandria so technically I worked as a LEO in your jurisdiction for a few days. Lol

Got through the vid, loved it! Question: I’ve never sharpened before but I recently bought a mk1 ken onion work sharp. I picked up some goodwill knives. Which of your videos would be ideal to get me confident to sharpen a knife or 5?
@EricsWormPlaygroundАй бұрын
I am 5 minutes in, and both your audio and video look great and make paying attention easy, no distractions. How does the camera move and follow your face as you move? That seems like a cool option. Or is your cameraman just that responsive?

Its an AI camera called an Obsbot it's pretty cool and its AI Tracking is probably the best on the market right now amzn.to/3P5MyJZ
