I can understand how this works. There are many small shields all with individual health and shield meters. When you use a large shield, the space it takes up doesn't match the combined health and shields of the smaller shields that take up the same space.

It isn't just that. Small electroshields also have a very high health per CPU (Electroshield A is ~3500 health per CPU, while a full cube is 2100) So a shield spam hover has more combined health than a blockspam hover.

for those wondering, it works largely because the shots from the shotgun spread out over the surface of all the individual sheild do small amounts of damage to each EP. And thats if all your shotgun pellets hit in their spread.

Lol and just now they nerfed shields to the ground with the no recharge thing so it doesn't work. Freejam are getting very efficient at this, killing the meta before it spreads to everyone like it was with the piranhas not too long ago and all of the chain hoverbots just now.

I remember playing Robocraft when you could unlock all the weapon and wheel type at the beginning, when there was only dearhmatch, when players who just started playing got matched with players who just started playing, and not with those who can one-shot you, when you didn't need to pay a crapload of money to just PLAY THE DAMN GAME... Back in the day of prehealers, I built a hull tank, the entire thing was kept afloat by 8 t8-9 hovers, and the thing was scary. I left my driver deliberately exposed, meaning a well placed railgun hit could have taken me out instantly, and focused all of my plasma guns downward and to the side. My craft had enough lift that even if you shot at me with plasma, but missed my main craft, I hovered above the explosion. Upon realising I had made one of the best bots around, I proceeded to annihilate anyone and everyone I came across, with my main tactic being: a) shell them from afar b) fly over them and shell them up close with 5 t8-9 plasma launchers. I was a menace. A while later, after they added the "boss craft" mode, I had grabbed a smaller craft of mine and went to go fight a group of high CPU level crafts. Unbeknownst to me, I accidentally glitched my hovertank into the match. The hovertank mind you that was a boss craft on its OWN. And yes, the 3 boss crafts were destroyed. Another time, this time as the boss craft, the last guy in the match decided to hide on the walls surrounding the match, thinking that I wouldn't be able to get to him. I can only imagine the horror on his face as he watched a hovertank scale a wall that he thought not possible to scale by hovers. He did not account for the two t9 thrusters mounted to my sides. But that's all in the past, before they nerfed plasma and rails to the point of disuse. Because of players that were good with them. To this day I have not touched robocraft. They broke it too much.

I fought a bot called Agateon and it was able to take on 3 bots at one time and at that moment I knew I wanted it. I bought it the match right after and I went on to absolute destroy other bots with ease, I recommend you buy it - Its the green one with a bunch of shields and low tier Lasers

if you plaued overwatch or paladin there is a guy with shield that protects everyone of we can add it in to the robo craft when you activate the shield all your weapons are down (cas that would be op) and yes shield is going for the weapon slot

Small size, way higher health and shield/cpu than full cubes, weird hitboxes that makes it harder to hit guns, and the shield mechanics making bots with a lot of them keep integrity until the bitter end like no other bot can. Sounds perfectly balanced if you ask me. /S

since the "Community Factory" was born, the main purpose of the game (creativity = skill and strategy) doesn't matter anymore, people are more focused in gain credits to then buy a bot with characteristics that exploits at max capacity their functionality, the other day, a guy called me n00b only because he destroyed a bot that i've made and he also said: "...because u didn't buy an ION Piranha :P". even after, in another battle, he keep saying this things to other players, while he was using the same bot
