What i was going to say about the 2nd bathroom scene where jack says cozy, is that if you look at the back window that Danny will later escape out of there's a red object on the windowsill, perhaps a premonition of future danger

While playing Rosemary's Baby at the same time as The Shining, I noticed that Jack kissing the hag and then looking in the mirror matches very closely with Rosemary eating raw chicken liver and then seeing her reflection in the toaster. Then Rosemary throws up in the kitchen sink.

Patty dukes scenes in valley of the dolls when she's strapped down in the insane asylum are very reminiscent of Linda Blairs scenes in the exorcist, I'm sure william friedkin or blatty or both saw valley of the dolls, did you know Kubrick was offered the exorcist but blatty wouldn't let him produce the movie, Kubrick later came out and said he liked the way exorcist came out under friedkins directorial hand,
