This song is timeless. It could’ve been written in the 60s,70s,80s,90s, or 2000s. It’s hard to tell without researching it. Beautiful and amazing sound.

My friend used to be like "Dude! come to Hayward. Let's hang and make music!". This was in high school when we were just 14 or so. We had dreams, everyone has them when they're young. Anyway, his father is driving us back to Hayward from school in South City, which is easily an hours drive. Geoffery, my best friend puts this band on, I'm in the back seat like "Dog, what is this?!". He says it's The Shins, we probably listened to the whole album. I looked up to him from that memory forward. I knew that he understood sound. We would make music that started at this sentiment. Later, I'd fall in love with a few girls. I'd always share The Shins with them. There's something about truth in this, about continuity... it makes love palpable.

"Wow" just heard this so on a playlist on a radio show. I am sixty-one and love music, it reminds me of the cool innocent songs from the early seventies that get stuck in your head and your humming the song. This type of music makes you young at heart.

This piece haunts me. It is so simple and at the same time so beautiful. There is a melancholy dissonance in the chords at times, and yet there is hope in the individual notes. I love how the eighth notes come and go, and the unresolved final chord gives me the chills.

Why are people complaining about this performance so much? Sure, it's taken a little slower than the original version, and Jessica sings harmonic parts, but it's still SOOO GOOD

Really enjoy this song, it’s not my usual preference but I heard it in scrubs once when I was 14ish. I remember really enjoying the message, actors and song it tied up the end of the episode really well. Like that somewhat bittersweet rest after a long day before you go back again. Whenever I hear this song I’m transported to that time for a bit. God bless everyone who watches this let’s enjoy his creation.

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh [Verse 1] Gold teeth and a curse for this town Were all in my mouth Only I don't know how They got out, dear Turn me back into the pet I was when we met I was happier then With no mindset [Chorus] And if you took to me like A gull takes to the wind Well, I'd've jumped from my trees And I'd've danced like the king of the eyesores And the rest of our lives would've fared well [Verse 2] New slang when you notice the stripes The dirt in your fries Hope it's right when you die Old and bony Dawn breaks like a bull through the hall Never should have called But my head's to the wall And I'm lonely [Chorus] And if you took to me like A gull takes to the wind Well, I'd've jumped from my trees And I'd've danced like the king of the eyesores And the rest of our lives would've fared well [Guitar Solo] You might also like The Celibate Life The Shins Girl Inform Me The Shins Simple Song The Shins [Verse 3] Godspeed all the bakers at dawn May they all cut their thumbs And bleed into their buns 'Til they melt away [Verse 4] I'm looking in on the good life I might be doomed never to find Without a trust, a flaming field Am I too dumb to refine? [Chorus] And if you took to me like Well, I'd've danced like the queen of the eyesores And the rest of our lives would've fared well [Guitar Solo] [Outro] Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh
